Chapter 61 - Secrets

"Ra-"

"I know who you are, Ray. Mind if we have a short talk in your office.", asked Core when he walked next to Ray who was about to swipe his keycard in the scanner which is fixed next to the door to his office. Ray moved aside for a second, letting the robot into his office first. Ray sat behind his desk while Core sat down near the desk.

"I know you have a lot of questions... don't be shy.", said the robot as he was staring at the man who was also looking back at him.

Ray admitted that he really has a lot of questions, so he started when he asked about the facility, especially to the employees. Core straightened his body and sighed. Core told the exact same thing of what Oxford said when he described the facility, it is the biggest and it is located deep underground, hidden away from the people from the surface. Then Core paused for a few seconds before continuing to the employees.

"Decades ago... all of them were abducted when they were still very... very young, like two months old. Nowadays, since the population is eight billion, we stopped kidnapping them, instead, we started to create them with our technologies.", answered Core.

"What about Oxford?", questioned Ray when he sat up straight.

"He was the last to be abducted. It is also not his real name.", replied Core.

"Can you tell me more?", asked Ray when he removed his white hat and placed it on the top right corner of his desk.

Core told Ray about everything that he knows. He started out by saying that the SPOT corporation isn't the only one out there, there are three more, two of them are behind and one is ahead, close to being able to visit other dimensions. Whenever Ray interrupted him just to ask a question, he doesn't answer it, he just kept talking and talking because Core knows that their time is limited so he better tell him, even though Ray can visit him in his office or he can return later.

Core noticed that Ray started typing on the digital keyboard that he brought up to the desk. Ray continued to listen carefully while also typing the keywords or the most important to him. Core started to explain the great pyramid of Giza. He told the man that they are the ones who built it of course with the help of the Egyptians, especially the Pharaoh. They used the giant structure as their power source, like a nuclear reactor but more powerful and efficient. It only took them three months to construct it.

He then moved on to the Stonehenge, where they used it as a portal that can lead to other planets. It was one of their greatest creation at the time. They were helped by other two civilisations. It cost them some lives and a few days to build it. Then he started talking about the Great City of Atlantis. They also built it, along with the same two civilisations and with more modern technologies. It only took them a year to completely finish it without even spending a human life.

"You know Nikola Tesla?", questioned Core to the man who was still typing.

"Yes... You're going to tell me that his lost inventions are hidden here?", answered Ray without even making a quick glance at the robot.

"Everything that he created is stored here in this facility, and we use them all. Those on the surface, are just replicas.", said Core when he smiled a little as he was watching the man type faster. "Greek Fire!", he said in a tone.

"What about it?", asked the man.

"Everything that you could think of can only be found here in this facility.", replied Core when he stood up from his chair.

Ray stopped typing and looked at Core who was walking towards him. Core placed grey folder and slid it across the desk, towards Ray and stopped when it reached to the digital keyboard. Ray was focusing on the unknown folder.

"I wish you good luck on your journey.", said the robot before he turned around and started to walk to the door. Ray jerked his head and stopped the robot with a question.

"Where are you going?"

"My time has run out. I'll visit you later, or you can visit me in my office if your time is vacant.", said the robot before walking out of the room, leaving Ray's view.

Ray safely saved the document that he created and focused on the folder that the robot brought. He opened it and he immediately found a glass grey-tinted keycard attached on the empty first page. He flipped to the next page and found a list of something that Ray couldn't tell for now. He thought the list ended there but it resumed on the back and to the rest of the pages. He jumped to the last page of the folder and unexpectedly discovered unknown handwritings, logos, and even icons. Some of the icons looked familiar to Ray.

"Oh.", he uttered when he found the same exact icon that is written on the label of the unknown memory card that Oxford stumbled on.

The door suddenly buzzed and opened, revealing the silver robot who just arrived with the glass cube which still contained the black gelatine. The droid placed the cube on the desk, near to the grey folder, moved away and stood still next to the door, waiting for Ray's commands.

"Sit down.", ordered Ray when he closed the grey folder and moved it aside and fetched the plate which he still hasn't finished yet.

"Have you ever been to the surface?", questioned the man to his robot.

"No. We were told that we... are not allowed to.", answered the robot when started to stammer for some reason.

Ray only replied with a nod before taking small chunks of food into his mouth.
