"What is your decision?", questioned the guard to Ray who was just standing there next to the droid quietly.

"He's new.", announced the robot after he did a glance to Ray.

"We know, he should've kno-", the guard was interrupted when he found Cal walked into the laboratory.

"What seems to be the problem?", Cal asked a question when he joined the group.

"Chap tried to kill himself.", answered Ray in a plain tone.

Cal jerked his head right after Ray answered. He approached Chap who is being still held by two guards. Ray watched the two men talk and when Cal hit Chap, he moved away whilst also looking away from it. He started to scan the laboratory, walking around and looking at the different kinds of types of equipment. He didn't find any knife or any weapon that can injure someone. All the glass jars are empty and everything is kept in order.

"Excuse me.", Ray approached a guard nearby. "Can you tell me exactly how he tried to kill himself?"

"With this, sir.", answered the guard when he showed him the glass cube which contains the black gelatin-like substance. "He tried to consume it, luckily one of the guards caught him before he could even try to take it out.", continued the guard.

"What do you think it is?", questioned Ray as he was staring at the cube which is resting in the middle of the desk.

"I don't know, sir. It made a sound just a while ago.", answered the guard when he also glanced at the object.

Ray leaned in closer to the cube after he moved his hands behind his back. He watched the black stuff jiggle around even though the cube is calmly resting on the desk. He stood straight and turned his head to his right, checking if Cal has finished talking to Chap, he found Cal walking towards him and Chap laying down on the floor.

"Bring it to my office.", Ray ordered the guard before facing Cal.

"I'm done with him.", said Cal before he inhaled. "He's yours from this point.", he finished the conversation and left the laboratory without a single word.

Ray approached the droid who was standing near Chap who somehow is still conscious and is now sitting on the floor, quietly.

"Shall we bring him to his cell?.", the robot spoke.

"You three bring him to his cell.", Ray told the drop and the two guards who were holding Chap by his arms. "I have something else to do.", he added as he was staring at the cube which is now in the hands of the guard that he ordered to bring it to his office.

All of them left the laboratory and when they were heading to the hallway where the elevators are located, they walked passed another room which doesn't look like a laboratory from the inside, there are bookcases and artefacts, Ray looked up to the sign and realised that it is the PGP. He stood in front of it for just a few seconds before joining the group. He noticed that the lights are turned off and everything is gathering bags of dust. Later he found out that the entire section of the facility is empty, not a single employee or guard can be found. Ray was about to slide his key card to the scanner when unexpectedly they heard a chime and an elevator arrived. The droid, Chap, and all of the guards stepped inside the elevator, they didn't let the doors to close when the robot asked Ray if he is coming with them. Ray said that he will take another elevator.

"I'll be with you in a few minutes.", announced the droid to Ray.

Ray nodded just in time before the elevator doors closed between them. Ray stood quietly in the middle of the deserted hallway, waiting for the second elevator to come. He looked to his right, then to his left, his anxiety grew slightly after seeing nothing except for the CCTV cameras that are still active, but not moving. He found ten of them nearby they are all facing away from him. He jumped slightly when he heard a chime and was followed by the arrival of the elevator. He took a deep breath as he walked into the elevator and let the doors closed behind him.

Starting from the floor level where Ray was waiting, the section of where the cells are built is located just a few kilometres down while the section which hosts the offices is just a few floors up. The reason why the cells are located near the bottom floor of the facility is unknown to all of the employees and guards, not even the elites, only the high societies know it.

In just a few seconds, Ray stepped outside of the elevator and when he was walking, he found something near the door to his office. He didn't come to a stop, he walked closer to it with an upright posture. He found a robot, leaning up against the wall with both of its arms crossed and his head slightly facing down. The robot looked modern and futuristic. It is wearing an unknown uniform. Most of the uniform is coloured black olive, including the long sleeves. Violet-blue at the shoulders area and on the waistline. There are six grey buttons sewn in the middle, the outline of the three grey buttons are Dodger blue and the other three is medium blue. The colour of the pair slacks matched the one on the waistline and at the shoulders. Ray noticed that the robot seems to not be wearing any shoes, he can clearly see his grey feet planted firmly on the floor. The colour of the robot's head is also grey, some parts of it are coloured violet-blue and the colour of the robot's eyes is white, just like the colour of Ray's eyes.

Ray took a small step closer to the robot and somehow he caught the robot's attention and looked directly at him, not moving the body.

"So you're the new elite?", questioned the robot to Ray.

"Y-Yes.", answered Ray while standing still.

"My name is Core, the first of the high societies.", introduced the robot whilst it was walking towards him, stopped with just two meters of space between them, and they shook hands.
