Chapter 80 - Backup

Ray gazed around, searching for where the projectile came from, he found it after a couple of seconds. He also discovered that there are three robots standing on the opening of a hole on a wall. It was Fier, Nite, and Vier, Fier's brother. Everyone was staring at them when out of nowhere, another giant white robot barged through the robust concrete wall. It was not just a robot, but a huge army was following behind it. Everyone was surprised to see them all of sudden, they didn't expect this moment to happen, especially when they were already hopeless. The white robot rammed Cal to the other side of the facility. While the two giant robots were still fighting, Ray moved away from his position, regrouping with the rest.

The entire facility was shaking due to the two enormous robots fighting in the distance. Fier found Ray in pain when the three of them were climbing down the ladder. When they finally reached the bottom, Fier ran towards Ray with a couple of syringes that includes regeneration liquids that they brought from the other two facilities. Ray was about to collapse down to the steel floor when Fier quickly caught him. He injected two syringes, one to his neck and the other to his chest.

Assisted by the regeneration liquids, Ray's body hastened to heal all the wounds and the broken bones included, plus it gave his body a boost.

"Where did you get them?", questioned Ray calmly whilst being handed a weapon.

"They're from the other facilities that the high societies abandoned.", answered Fier who was keeping the syringes back to their casings.

The water level began to descend very slowly thanks to the gaping hole but it won't last long due to the giant floating debris that has already started to clog it. Ray told Fier about his plan of getting into the robot's head, he also added that they should keep that hole clear from debris since it granted them some time. Fier nodded at him before regrouping back to the others to assign a few to maintain the hole completely free from debris especially since a huge pile of it have been spotted and is rapidly approaching the opening. A few men with a handful of explosives started to run, trying their best to outrun it so that they can throw the explosives on top of it to spread the pieces apart.

"I also forgot to tell you...", Ray walked up to Nite from behind. "A pipe is leaking sarin and helium."

Nite looked at him quietly before calling someone. A man approached them and stood straight next to Nite. The robot ordered the man to get everyone to safety and when the man left, Nite told Ray to follow him. He is going to give him another spacecraft or if there isn't any left, maybe he will at least get him closer to the robot safely. While they were climbing up the ladders, Cal's robot released a couple of dozens of explosive missiles, but the other robot, who still has its forcefield running, sent everything out of its way. Nite looked at the robot who nearly killed them from its action.

"And if it didn't?", questioned Nite suddenly when he saw Ray pulled out a small USB device from one of his pockets as they were walking up the stairs carefully.

"Use the flammable gasses and hope that will work.", replied Ray with a worrying voice.

Nite was informed that there are no more spacecrafts left, all are being used to evacuate everyone. Nite told Ray about it and then added that he will do his best to get him near as possible. When they were about to move, they noticed that the friendly enormous robot is completely destroying Cal, its armour platings are being ripped apart.

"Leave me.", said Ray suddenly to the robot beside him.

Nite didn't protest, he simply just nodded at him and then left without saying a word. Ray looked back at the two robots and noticed that the one on his right, which is their ally, has stopped moving all of sudden. Then out of nowhere, something detonated from behind its back.

"Ray!", the man wearing a white general uniform jerked his head when he heard someone called his name, he can clearly identify that it is Azalea's voice. Ray found the two, Azalea and the mother, Zinnia hanging on the sides of Cal's robot, that also stopped moving. Ray called someone and then pointed at the two bodies in the distance, signalling and demanding them to be rescued quickly. A spacecraft responded and surprisingly Oxford is on it. Ray watched the spacecraft as it was hovering too close to the two massive robots that are still not showing any movements. Those are not a threat for Ray, but Cal is, especially since he disappeared from everyone's view.

Someone called Ray's name again, he looked to his right and found Nite telling him to get into the spacecraft that is ready to leave and is just waiting for him to board. Ray announced that he will stay here for a little longer, he still thinks that Cal might be hiding somewhere, waiting. He discovered that Azalea and Zinnia have been retrieved and are now heading out of the facility. The entire facility then died a little when all of its emergency lights have finally run out of juice and the only light source now are the spacecrafts that are now flying towards the opening. The facility started to get darker and colder as the spacecrafts leave the facility. Ray was watching the view, the spacecrafts looked like a group of small, luminous fireflies floating in the dark environment.

"I think you're forgetting something.", Ray heard someone talked behind him, he quickly turned around and found Cal leaning against the wet, cracked wall in the distance. "Robot's can't leave this place.", he added.

"They're going to the other facilities that you, the high societies, abandoned.", said Ray.

Cal let out an evil chuckle before quickly running towards him while two longswords, that are completely made out of graphene, spawned from both of his hands. Luckily, Ray found a metal bar nearby. He immediately grabbed it and he swung it at the exact time when Cal arrived in front of him, also about to swing his two weapons at him. Ray realised his stupid move when the metal bar wasn't enough to block the two longswords. Cal kicked Ray in the stomach, sending him a couple of levels down from him. Ray landed on his back with pain. Cal jumped down and landed on top of Ray, showing no mercy to him. The man on the floor spat out blood.

"The transition is about to end.", said Cal with a deadly smile when he raised one of his swords on top of Ray's head and when he was about to slice it in half, a robot came out of nowhere and kicked him off and away for a couple of meters. Two more robots joined the scene. Those robots are Fier, Nite and then Vier. The three robots are armed, Nite is holding his trustworthy rifle, Vier is also holding a rifle while Fier is holding two types of weapons, one is another graphene sword and the other is a lance, also made out of graphene. He is also the one who kicked Cal away from Ray.
