Chapter 30 - Create

They stood in front at the entrance of the Test Section of the facility. Oxford was expecting to see at least one employee in the area, but just by looking at the entrance and not hearing any sounds of footsteps or machines, they got more curious and made it more suspicious for them, the theory that they may be in a meeting is impossible at this point. Oxford brought Ray into an area where he would be able to make the chip, he told him to not leave the area with or without him and Ray agreed. Oxford also told him that he would be leaving him for a while, he is going to find his friends. Ray began by grabbing a small block of gold from one of the cabinets nearby and then placed it on a machine that will flatten it to a thinness of smaller than a hair.

Oxford first went to the laboratory section to check if Chap is present. Surprised, he found Chap sitting behind his desk, reading a green folder. He didn't notice him at first since he was reading but he moved his head and saw Oxford approaching him when he heard the glass door buzzed. Oxford was still looking around the laboratory and stopped when he came to a stop in front of his friend's desk. He looked down at him and Chap looked up at him with his head slightly tilted to his left and has a curious look.

"Where is everyone?", questioned Oxford to Chap before taking a seat.

"They're all dismissed, didn't you get the memo?", replied Chap as he placed the green folder on the desk.

"I haven't received anything.", said Oxford after he pulled out his phone and checked if it has received a message that he hasn't read yet.

"Well apparently, our vault got raided.", replied Chap before he let out a sigh.

"W-What? That's impossible!", said Oxford as he raised an eyebrow.

"Don't believe me? See it for yourself.", Chap told the man.

"I will.", said Oxford as he walked away and towards to the exit, but stopped for a second. "Is Ony here?", he questioned.

"I haven't seen him yet. Why are you here by the way?", replied Chap while grabbing the green folder.

"I gave Ray a task to create a functional chip.", answered Oxford before opening the glass door.

"Mind if I watch him?", Chap questioned.

Oxford nodded to the man before walking out of the glass room and Chap followed him from behind, carrying the green folder in his right hand. The two men arrived at the Test Section and immediately noticed that Ony is observing Ray, who was carefully and perfectly placing immensely tiny gold pins on the other side of the chip. Ony turned his head when he saw the two men approaching him on the corner of his eyes. He stood straight when they came to a stop.

"What is he creating?", questioned Ony to Oxford.

"A chip.", answered the man while he glanced at Ray who just transferred the chip to another machine.

"Are you almost finished?", question Oxford to Ray after activating the machine.

"Halfway there.", replied Ray when he turned around to face the three men behind him.

Ray remained standing near the machine in case something went wrong while the three men took a stool and sat on it and started a conversation. Ray kept his back facing the men, he tried to listen to their chat but he couldn't since they are meters away from him. After a few minutes, Ray grabbed the chip when the machine is done, and gently placed it into a container, which is filled with liquid nitrogen, with both of his hands wearing protective gloves. He then took it after a few seconds and then placed it on a small glass rectangular container, usually where new chips are placed and delivered, closed it and stood and wait for the men to finish their talk.

"I think he's finished.", said Ony to Oxford when he noticed that Ray was sitting on a stool with the glass container in his hands, watching them quietly.

"Have you tested it?", questioned Oxford.

"Yes.", answered Ray with a nod.

Oxford stood up while looking at his friends and saying, "We better be going now."

The two men nodded at him and Ray stood up and walked close to Oxford. They left the area together but when they arrived at the elevators, they went to their own ways. Chap went back to his laboratory, Ony went back to his office and Oxford and Ray went to the Section A-3, where they took a pod back to New York City. Ray kept the container in his hands until they returned to the penthouse. They found the robot in his bedroom, laying on his bed, not sleeping but just staring at the ceiling. Ray knocked on the door before entering the room. Fier sat up and looked at Ray who was holding a small glass container in his hands, he can see what is inside, it is the chip that Ray created back in the facility. Ray sat down on the bed and placed the container near the robot's feet.

"It's really not that hard to make it actually.", said Ray to the robot.

"Yeah sure.", replied Fier whilst grabbing the container and opening it to receive the chip.

"I guess... we'll start tomorrow?", questioned Ray.

"I can start today.", said Fier as he held the chip up to his eye, examining the object.

"Just tell me when...", replied Ray when he stood up and walked out of the room, leaving the robot in silence.
