[VANESSA'S POV]
I woke up again to the feeling of warmth. I knew it was Madelaine. I love waking up next to her. She was still asleep. She didn't look like her normal self. She looked distressed and pale. I hated it.

I didn't like sad Madelaine. I love when she's smiling. Her smile makes a whole room glow. She is always smiling. It hurts me to see her in so much pain, and she isn't ready to tell me so I don't know if I can even help her.

I miss her laugh. Her laugh is beautiful. She sounds like an angel. I don't even remember the last time I heard her beautiful laugh. I decide since all she has eaten today is junk that I should make her a healthy breakfast. I go to the kitchen and make her breakfast.

Once I am done making it I get a tray to set the breakfast on. Before I can take it to her the doorbell rings. I leave the breakfast on the counter and go to open the door. I open the door and was met with Travis.

"Oh, hey Travis." I say surprised. "Hey, Vanessa!" He says excitedly. "What are you doing here?" I ask letting him in. "I came to see Madelaine. She hasn't been answering my text messages. I was getting worried." He says anxiously.

"She's been having a rough morning. She's asleep right now." I say motioning towards the bed room. "Okay. Thank you." He says giving me a big smile. "Um....well. I guess I will just leave. I made her breakfast. You can give it to her." I say trying to find my shoes.

"No! You don't have to go. Stay here with us. Give her the breakfast you made her." He says quickly. "Are you sure?" I ask. "Positive." He says giving me a small smile. "Okay." I say quietly and leave the to kitchen.

I grab the tray and take it to Madelaine's room. When I get into the room I see Madelaine tossing and turning violently. Soon she started whimpering and screaming. I quickly put down the tray and run over to her.

"Madelaine!" I yell while shaking her to wake up. She wakes up and quickly pushes me away, "No!" She yells at me. "Madelaine, It's me Vanessa." I say calmingly.

She looks at me with red puffy eyes. She has tears running down her cheeks and her nose is running slightly. I walk to her slowly making sure to not scare her.

Once I reach the side of the bed she grabs me quickly. She pulls me onto the bed and sits on my lap. She wraps her arms around my waist and puts her head on my collarbone. It all happened so quickly.

I sit silently and rub her back, trying my best to comfort her. She was sobbing. Her whole body was shaking as sobs escaped her lips. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. Please don't hurt me." Madelaine repeated over and over again.

"Mads, I would never hurt you. I promise. You're safe." I say reassuringly. "Why?" She asks sniffling. "Why what?" I ask confused. "Why won't you hurt me? I deserve to be hurt." Madelaine says. "No you do not." I say sternly.

"Don't I? I'm terrible. I'm so pathetic. Just do it. Hurt me. I know you want to." She said looking at me. "Madelaine, I will not hurt you. I don't want to either." I say trying to wipe away her tears. She pushes my hands away. "Stop lying to me!" She yells at me.

"I know you don't love me. I know that you're just pretending to care about me. I know you love watching me cry. It gives you joy doesn't it?" Madelaine says tears streaming down her face.

"Madelaine stop! You think this makes me happy? Seeing you hurt?! Do you even know how much pain this causes me?" I yell with tears in my eyes. "I'm sorry." She says looking at the bed.

"Why do you keep saying sorry?" I ask lifting her chin. "I'm afraid." She says barely audible. I furrow my eyebrows confused. She continues, "Of getting hurt. You say you won't hurt me but they never mean it." Instead of saying anything I pull her close and hold her in my arms.

She tries to push me away but I hold her tighter. After minutes of struggling to get out of my arms she relaxes. "I love you, Madelaine." I whisper into her ear. "I love you, too" She whimpers. We sit in each others embrace for a while, until I pull away.

"Babe?" Travis calls. I look to the door and he is leaning on the door frame. "How long have you been standing there?" I ask. "Since you came here to give her the breakfast you made her." He says walking into the room.

"Babe, are you okay?" He says trying to rub her arm. She moves away and cuddles up farther into me, if that was even possible. "Vanessa?" Travis asks worriedly. "I don't know, Travis" I say sadly.

He nods and backs away. "Maybe I should go." He says quietly. "You don't have to go Travis." I say quickly. "She needs you right now. Not me." He says trying to walk out. "Just stay. She might need you later. We can watch something in the living room." I try and reason.

He looks to me and Madelaine for a moment. He lets out a deep sigh, "Okay." He says and leaves to the living room. "Can we just lay here please." Madelaine begs.

"Mads, we can go to the living room and lay on the couch okay?" I ask. She nods slowly. I get off the bed and wait for her to follow. Madelaine doesn't move. "What?" I ask. She stretches out her arms and makes a pouty face.

"You really want me to carry you?" I ask with a small laugh. She nods her head quickly with a huge grin in her head. "Okay." I sigh while picking her up.

Once I reach the living room I set her on the couch. I look to Travis who is on the other couch. He nods his head so I sit next to Madelaine.

Travis picks a movie while Madelaine cuddles into my side. He started the movie and I watched it quietly. Although I could feel Madelaine's eyes on me. I tried to ignore it but every minute I did it felt like holes were being burned into my skin.

So I finally looked back at her but once I did she turned her head quickly to the tv. Then I felt Travis' eyes on me. I looked at him and he gives me a small sad smile. I give him the best fake smile I could. I couldn't give him a real smile knowing Madelaine feels the way she does.

The movie ends and I decide I should leave. "Mads. I think I'm going to head out." I say giving her a small smile. "Please don't go." She pleads. "I would stay but I think Travis wants to talk to you." I say motioning towards Travis while he was looking through the fridge.

"I need you here." She says with tears in her eyes. "No you don't. You have your boyfriend here." I say. Of course I wanted to be here but she needs Travis. "He will keep you safe. I can come back tomorrow if you really want me to." I say reassuringly while wiping away the new tears on her cheeks.

Madelaine nods and gives me a tight hug. "I love you." She says before stepping away. "I love you too." I reply. Travis comes from the kitchen and stands behind her. "Bye Vanessa." He says waving. "Bye." I say walking out to my car.
