[VANESSA'S POV]
I arrive at Madelaine's house and open the door. I see Camila in the recliner with Madelaine asleep in her lap. I walk to them wanting to see Madelaine's beautiful face. Once I see her face I also see her tear stained cheeks. I immediately grow concerned. "What happened?" I ask crouching down. "She was okay for a little bit. After about thirty minutes she started hearing voices and she started crying." Camila explains. I frown immediately knowing I caused her this pain. "She was crying that she needed you but I kept reassuring her you would be back soon. She started hyperventilating so I pulled her into my lap trying to get her to calm down. It took a while but then she fell asleep." Camila says looking at Madelaine sadly. "I knew I shouldn't have fucking left." I scold myself. "I knew it was a bad idea but I did it anyways." I say angry. "Don't blame yourself. You need to make sure she feels safe and happy, and you know she won't be happy if you blame yourself." Camila says sternly. She's right. Madelaine hates me being upset at myself as much as I hate her being upset at herself. I nod my head. I rub Madelaine's shoulder gently. "Babe." I say softly. Madelaine wakes up and quickly jumps into my arms. She crawls into my lap and wraps her arms around me. "You came back." She says relieved. I hold her tightly. "Of course I came back. I will always come back." I whisper into her ear. We sit on the floor enjoying each other's embrace until I break the silence. "Are you okay?" I ask. "I am now that you're here." Madelaine says into my neck. I smile at that. "I'm sorry I left you." I apologize. "It's okay. I'm just happy you're back." She mumbles. "Can I ask you something?" I ask. She nods against my shoulder. "What was it saying?" I ask nervously. I feel her body tense up as soon as the words leave my mouth. "It's okay. I'm here." I say rubbing her back. Her body relaxes against my touch. "It was saying you weren't going to come back. That you were going to leave me forever." She pulls away and looks into my eyes. "I tried to do what you said. I tried to ignore it but when I told it to go away it just got louder saying that I was weak without my girlfriend. It got louder and more manipulative. It hurt." Madelaine says as a few tears fall from her eyes. I wipe them away with my thumbs. "I will never leave you. I will always come back. You are so strong. Don't let it make you believe you aren't." I reassure. "Promise?" She asks. "Promise." I say holding out my pinky. She smiles at me and wraps her pinky around mine. "I love you." Madelaine says. "I love you, too." I say kissing her forehead. Suddenly I hear a click and look up to see Camila with her phone out. "Shit. I thought it was on silent." Camila curses. I roll my eyes and Madelaine giggles. "Babe. I got you something." I say standing up holding Madelaine in my arms. "Really?" She asks excitedly. "Well it's for us." I say setting her on the couch. "Okay." She smiles. I pick my purse up off of the floor and set it on the coffee table. I grab the red bag out of it and sit next to Madelaine. "I decided I should get you those promise rings as soon as possible because I want my beautiful girlfriend feeling safe. So I went around town today looking for the perfect rings. I really like these so I hope you do too." I say pulling out the small velvet boxes. I look for the gold one deciding it would look much better on her then on me. "I love you so very much. I want this ring to help you feel safe. I love you. Forever. Always. No matter what. I will never give up on you. I will always come back to you. I promise." I say. I open the small velvet box nervously. "It's beautiful." Madelaine says. "You like it?" I ask nervously. "I love it!" She says excitedly. I sigh automatically relieved. I take it out of the box and hand it to her carefully. She looks at it before sliding it onto her right ring finger. "It's beautiful. Thank you, baby." She thanks kissing my lips. I kiss her back happily. I take my ring out of the box and put it onto my right ring finger as well. "I love you." Madelaine says looking at me with a big smile. "I love you, too." I say giving her a big smile as well. "Oh my gosh! I got it all on video!" Camila says excitedly. "Aren't you tired of having your camera roll filled with us?" I ask annoyed. "Is that even possible?" She asks. "I wish it were." I sigh. "Too bad. I will always love Madnessa. I need to send this to Casey." Camila says. I roll my eyes and grab my phone to check the time. 12:26. "We should go get lunch." I suggest. "Food?" Madelaine asks. "Yeah, are you okay with eating?" I ask. She gives me a small smile, "Yeah." She answers. "Want me to cook, or do you want Veggie Grill?" I ask. Madelaine looks to Camila. "I want Veggie Grill. I don't fucking trust Vanessa to cook anymore." Camila says. "What the hell? You liked the food!" I argue. "I want Veggie Grill too." Madelaine says. "Okay babe, we can get Veggie Grill." I smile. "You're so much nicer to her than you are to me!" Camila pouts. "Tough shit." I say. "Girls." Madelaine warns. "Fine." Both me and Camila say in sync. "Let's go get dressed." Madelaine says standing up. I stand up as well and follow her to the room while Camila goes to the guest room. "Can we go shopping after lunch?" Madelaine begs. "Of course we can." I say. She smiles excitedly. "We should change your bandages." I say looking at her bandages. There's a small spot of blood but not a lot. I take her to the bathroom and set her on the counter. I take off the bandages and look at the cuts closely. They were close to healing but it would take a bit longer considering she cut them so deep. I rinse and dry them before putting on clean bandages. I set her on the floor. She kisses my cheek before leaving to the closet. "I want to go to the mall so I'm going to dress good." She says. "Does that mean I have to dress good also?" I ask. "Can I pick your outfit?" Madelaine asks excitedly ignoring my question. "Sure." I sigh. She jumps up and down excitedly and searches through my bag. "You're gonna wear my clothes." She says leaving my bag. "Why?" I ask confused. "Because all of your clothes are just workout clothes." She says. "Well I think they're comfortable." I argue. "You look great in them but we are getting dressed for the mall not the gym." Madelaine teases. "Fine." I say defeated. She picks me out light blue skinny jeans and a yellow sweater. She tosses them at me and I change into them quickly. "What should I wear?" She asks. "How about this?" I ask picking out a random outfit. I grab black ripped jeans and a random black top. "This looks like something you would wear." She says taking the outfit. "And this looks like something you would wear." I say pointing to myself. "Touché." Madelaine says before changing into the outfit. "Lemme do your hair." She says. I sigh. I'm about to look like a child. "Fine." I huff before sitting down. She sits behind me after grabbing a brush. She brushes out the small tangles and starts doing my hair. After moments she finishes and I go to the bathroom. Oh great. Two braids. I look like a toddler. "Why must you make me look so childish?" I ask. "Why must you make me look so punk?" Madelaine argues. "Touché." I mumble. I turn around so I am facing her. "You look cute." Madelaine compliments. "I look like a three year old." I complain. "You are the size of one." She teases. I pout and cross my arms. She wraps her arms around my waist. "It's okay. You're my three year old." She says. "You sound like a pedophile." I laugh. "I just want a kiss and you're being stubborn." Now Madelaine is the one pouting. I lean in and kiss her lips passionately and she does the same. I hold her against me tightly. As I'm about to deepen the kiss there's a small knock on the bathroom door. I pull away to see Camila standing in the doorway. "What? No pictures?" I ask. "I would have but my phone is in the other room." She sighs. I roll my eyes before moving out of Madelaine's grip. "Are you both ready?" Camila asks impatiently. "I need makeup." Madelaine speaks up. "Nope. No makeup." I say. Madelaine pouts. "Please." She begs. "No. You look beautiful without it. You can have lipgloss that's it." I say sternly. "Then I better get some lipgloss." Madelaine mumbles. I roll my eyes as does Camila. It honestly makes me upset that Madelaine thinks she needs makeup just to go out somewhere. She looks so beautiful without it but she doesn't believe that. "All done." Madelaine says bringing me out of my thoughts. "You look so beautiful, babe." I compliment. "Thank you. So do you." Madelaine smiles. Gosh that smile. "Okay, let's go. I'm starving." Camila complains. Camila leaves to the guest room most likely to retrieve her phone. "Babe." I say. "Hm?" She hums. "We should take a picture of our promise rings and post it. I have a really good picture idea that could work." I suggest. "Do we have to say they're promise rings?" Madelaine asks nervously while fiddling with her ring. "Of course not, babe. We can call them twin rings." I say. She nods with a smile. "Okay." She says. I move my ring to my index finger. "What are you doing?" Madelaine asks confused. "Moving it for the picture." I say adjusting the ring. I grab Madelaine's hand and put it under mine slightly. "How's that look?" I ask. "Look's great." She smiles. I grab my phone and take a quick picture. "They look beautiful." Madelaine says looking at the photo. "Just like you." I say kissing her cheek. She blushes and looks away. "We should probably get going before lunch turns into dinner." Madelaine laughs. "Come on! I'm hungry!" Camila yells from the other room. "Or before Camila get's hangry." I giggle. Madelaine grabs my hand and drags me out of the room to meet Camila. "Finally. You guys were taking forever." Camila groans. "By the way. I invited Lili." Camila says walking to the car. "How's it going with her?" I ask curiously. "We'll see." Camila teases.Sorry if it sucks. I tried to finish it earlier but I got busy. But now I'm going to sleep because I stayed up all night soooooo.....hope you guys like the chapter. I'm so glad y'all like the story.
