Chapter 29

          [VANESSA'S POV]
   I wake up to Madelaine cuddled with Yoshi. I decide to take a picture. I post it on my Instagram story then I put my phone on the nightstand. I look to Madelaine. I kiss her cheek. She opens her eyes slowly. "Morning, beautiful." I greet. "Morning." She smiles. She kisses Yoshi's head. Which reminds me of something.

   "We need to go to the pet store." I say. "He came with his bag what else might he need?" Madelaine asks. "Maybe some food." I laugh. She nods. I get out of bed. "Do you want to go right now, or should I go during your appointment?" I ask. "I want to go. Can we take Yoshi, too?" She asks. She sits up in bed and holds Yoshi to her chest. "Yes, of course, he can come." I say. Madelaine smiles and gets out of bed. She leaves Yoshi to sit on the bed.

   Madelaine walks to the bathroom and washes her face. I walk in there quickly, and grab her makeup bag. "Babe." Madelaine whines. "No makeup." I say. "Why?" She asks. "Because you are beautiful just the way you are. We are only going to the store. You don't need makeup." I say. "Fine." She mumbles. "I love you." I say kissing her lips. "I love you, too." Madelaine says against my lips.

   I brush my hair and teeth while Madelaine does the same. I go to the closet, and pick out a simple outfit. Madelaine does the same. Once she is dressed she goes through Yoshi's bag. He has more clothes than I do. She picks out a yellow jacket since it's cold here. Plus I know she loves the color yellow. She puts Yoshi into the jacket and picks him up.

"You ready, baby?" I ask. She nods her head. We walk to the kitchen, and Madelaine takes her pills quickly. I lead us to the car. I sit in the drivers seat while Madelaine sits in the passenger. She sets Yoshi in her lap. "Can we buy him a car seat?" Madelaine asks. I laugh. "A car seat?" I ask. She nods. "I see people get them all the time. They like hang on the seats, and you just set your dog in it." She explains looking at Yoshi. "Okay, if they have one. We can buy it." I say. "Yay." Madelaine says excitedly.

I drive us to the pet store and we both walk in. I get us a basket and Madelaine sets Yoshi in the seat. "We need to get him food, and maybe a car seat." I think aloud. Madelaine nods. We go down the food aisle and get his food. We then go down the aisle that has dog strollers, and car seats. I scan them quickly. "Do you want him to have a wool interior, or what?" I ask. "Yeah, wool." She nods. I look around and Madelaine speaks up. "What about this one?" She asks. I look at it. It has a storage at the bottom. It has a wool interior. Looks pretty good. "Okay, what color?" I ask. "Yellow." Madelaine chimes. Oh wow. Yoshi is really about to have everything in yellow. She grabs the yellow one, and places the box in the cart. "Babe, this thing is one-hundred dollars." I say. "Only the best for my son." She says. She pets Yoshi and kisses his head. My god she is going to spoil him. I sigh deeply. "Okay." I say.

Madelaine pushes the cart into the checkout line. We get to the register and she sets everything on the counter. The cashier scans everything. I go to grab my wallet but Madelaine grabs hers first. "Babe, what are you doing?" I ask. "Paying." Madelaine says nonchalantly. She gives her card to the cashier. "It's my dog, Mads. You shouldn't have to pay." I say. "Actually, it's our dog. So I am going to pay." Madelaine says. "I'm going to pay you back." I say. "No you are not." Madelaine says seriously. She grabs the items and sets them in the cart. She pushes the cart away from me, so I follow her.

She takes it to the car, and sets everything in the trunk. She puts the cart away. I grab Yoshi, and take him in the car. "Babe, you really didn't need to buy that for him." I say. I get into the car as does Madelaine. She buckles up, and takes Yoshi from me. "It was my idea to get it. I might as well buy it." Madelaine says. I shake my head. "Thank you." I say. "No problem." She says. She pecks my lips. I smile at that. She treats Yoshi as though he is an actual toddler. It's honestly adorable.
