There is nothing more scary than your friend messaging you telling you they thought about suicide.
Because in that moment you're stuck. It's 11:39 at night, I can't get out and even if I could they live miles away. I can't call because our parents are asleep. I try calling and you won't pick up for that reason.
I would rather get in trouble knowing you're safe, than not knowing what you're doing but I don't get in trouble for trying to save you.
It's one of the most horrifying moments you can experience. Not knowing how one of your best friends is and you are unable to help them. You don't know if they're lying to you about their well being to try and dull the pain for you, or if they're in danger or what.
The most you a can do is keep talking. Do not let the line be dropped. Keep talking and messaging. Let them know you're there. Let them know you live them. Let them know they are not alone.
Just keep them talking. Hell if you can get out of your house, go to them! Climb through their bedroom window and hold them. Tell them you love them. Make sure they're safe.
And yes they're gonna be stubborn and want you to go, but don't get annoyed with them. Don't get angry. Stay with them. Don't make them feel worse.
Make them feel loved.
