It finally happened.
She's awake.
No more waiting.
Oh god, please let her be okay.
Peter ran through the hallways to his apartment, practically sweating through his t-shirt. He fumbles with his keys from his pocket and takes off his backpack with the Spidey suit hidden inside.
"C'mon, c'mon," he mumbles under his breath and struggles with shaking hands to unlock the door. He finally does it and slings his bag on the ground. His frantic eyes look around, spotting a startled Aunt May on the couch with her phone in her hand.
Her eyes had bags under them and her hair was put up in a messy ponytail. Peter runs up and grabs the car keys.
"What are we doing here—let's go," he urges.
May looks at them like they're an object sent from aliens and then looks up at Peter.
"Hun, Maddie, she—um. . .she's not at the hospital."
The young boy's eyes widen in panic and the grip around the keys tightens.
"Wh—i-if she's not at the hospital then where the hell is she? We-We have to go out and find her then right?!" Peter makes way for the front door, "Why did you call me here, we should be out looking for her- -"
"- -Peter." Aunt May stands up abruptly and stops the boy from going out. She looked utterly worried and that scared Peter thinking about what could possibly happen.
". . .She's here."
His attention goes to her as she fidgets with her own hands and wrings them together. Peter stands there frozen, in shock of knowing that the girl he hasn't seen in forever is in his apartment.
"Wait. . .w-what do you mean 'she's here'? H-How can she be here," Peter goes back to where May stands while his heart starts to race and his eyes flicker around the living room, searching for the girl. But she's nowhere to be seen.
