Four days later...

Headquarters, Upstate

The girl's eyes widened when she opened the oven to her small kitchen. Black smoke rose and she immediately had a coughing fit and swatted the smoke away.

"Crap," she sighed sadly and looked at the black, charred top of her dessert. She took out the pan with oven mitts and looked at it with a disgusted scowl.

Apparently, making a cake was a bit too advance for someone who didn't know a thing about cooking.

She put the pan down on the island counter and slung off the mitt in anger.

"Way to go," she groaned to herself and placed her head in her hands.

She glanced at the mess she created on the counter. Flour, spilled eggs, sugar, was scattered everywhere on the floor and somehow in the sink. Her clothes had flour everywhere from when she wiped her hands and her hair was tied messily into a half-up half-down style.

She leaned against the counter, pulling a hair away from her face and looked at the burnt cake.

"It's still edible. . .right?" She poked at it to see, but her exposed finger had suddenly lit a flame on the cake.

"Great," she quickly pulled away and rolled her eyes, not caring to put the tiny flame out. It was all ruined anyways.

She rolled up her sleeves again and crossed her arms in frustration—leaning back on the counter.

She had ended training with Natasha early today in an effort to try to make something for Peter's birthday. Yes, it's been four days but she thought, better late than never.

Madeline didn't know how to make a cake—hell—all she could do was heat up rice and instant Mac N' Cheese. A cake from scratch without instructions was a disaster waiting to happen. But Madeline being Madeline, she was determined to try but unfortunately failed.

Just then, she heard a knock on her door, followed by a familiar boy's voice.

"Hey, you here?" Peter called out from the hall and the girl's eyes darted toward the cake that was slowly growing from the flame she set.

"U-Uh, yeah hold on one second!" The young Osborn did a full panicked 360 before spotting a egg-splattered cloth to the side of the counter. She grabbed it and quickly tried to smack the fire down, but instead her hands just lit another flame on the cloth.

"No, no, no," she mumbles and smoke begun to rose to the roof. The fire alarm wailing and she covered her ears.

Peter soon came in the kitchen, hands over his ears as he looked wide eyed at the cloud of smoke.
