••••• Parker Residence 3:10pm
Madeline Osborn sat in silence on the living room couch, legs crossed with her palms opened and resting on her knees. Her messied hair tossed which ever way and her clothes were burnt in small patches.
She spent the last six hours trying to contain her powers, completely burning off her protective bandages to a scorch. She hadn't eaten or drank anything since the event that happened during breakfast.
The girl was tired, energy drained from trying to think of something else rather than accidentally burning down the entire apartment. So far, no accidents occurred. Only her shirt had holes in some places from the small fires that would erupt from her hands occasionally.
Sweat dripped from her forehead as she looked down at her opened palms. She felt her whole body sporadically twitch whenever she felt a sudden rise of uncontrollable power flow through her. It was like a regulating cancerous heartbeat that was never ending.
Again, for the one thousandth time, she felt her blood in her wrists bubble and her palms radiated the air with heat waves.
She closed her eyes, now trying her hardest to concentrate this time.
Her heart almost beat out her chest when her hands suddenly flickered red hot flames. Fire danced around crazily in her fingertips and she felt a prickling sensation all throughout her hands.
She winced in pain from the headache that pounded in her brain. The voices that came for her ever since her nightmares told her the same thing again and again.
They told her to give up.
Her throat slip a yelp when the fire grew stronger, engulfing her entire hands. Her head twitched to the side when she heard snake-like voices whisper in her ears, ɟʞʍ¡Ԁ∩ƎΛIפɟɾǝɥn¡Ԁ∩ƎΛIפᴉʍʞɔɾsq¡SSƎ˥ƎS∩SʇI
She shook her head in protest, wanting the voices and the headaches to disappear forever.
Leave me alone. . .I can control it. .I have to. . .
He'll get hurt because of me if I don't. .
Suddenly, for a brief moment, she felt all sources of pain cease and the burning in her hands was no more. She slowly opened her eyes, not seeing the red and orange flames but instead watching in awe as calm blue flames danced on her palms.
