Two large mugs were placed onto the coffee table by a fancy dish of pleasant smelling pastries, a delicious aroma emitting from the hot liquid. A Korean drama was playing idly on the television but neither men were invested in it.

"How was he while I was gone?" Namjoon asked, sitting down on the large sofa beside his husband. He reached for a cream puff, biting into it eagerly.

It was night now, Yoongi was tucked away and fast asleep in his crib comfortably and the two lovers were relaxing after the struggling bed time routine which consisted of nipped fingers and splattered toothpaste. Although the other man wasn't so relaxed, picking nervously at the hem of his silk pajamas.

"Namjoon," he spoke softly. His husband caught onto the shaky voice which had been so well hidden up until now.

The cream puff was forgotten. "What is it?" Namjoon asked worriedly, forehead creasing in concern. "You seemed a little quiet earlier. You can tell me, babe," he reassured unnecessarily.

Seokjin chuckled quietly, lightly amused. "That's what I was going to do, Joonie," he cooed playfully. Namjoon rolled his eyes in response and picked up his dessert once more, although still waited for his husband to begin speaking again.

"My mother came over today."

Namjoon choked on the cream puff, barely recovering from his coughing fit before he choked out, "What ?"

"I know-"

"Christ, did she-did she see Yoongi? I locked the door this morning, but-"

Seokjin interrupted his husband's blubbering. "Calm down. No, she didn't see Yoongi. We were colouring in the kitchen and-and I put Yoongi in the nursery. But she saw the colouring books and Yoongi's bear. It was surprisingly easy to make up a believable excuse for them," he huffed a laugh, remembering how it went down.

"I just about managed to hide Yoongi's high chair tray. She was in a hurry, because she completely missed the high chair itself," he exclaimed, calmly reaching for the mug of cooling tea.

Namjoon processed the information. "She didn't stay long, then?"

"She never does," Seokjin replied, clearly holding something back but Namjoon didn't have to pry because he revealed the information a short moment later,

"She's retiring. She... wants to hand the business over to me."

"That's good, right?"

Seokjin gave a small smile. "I suppose it is... but she told me she's going to come over to talk about the whole thing throughout the month. Meaning there's a possible chance she could find out about Yoongi. You've already taken two weeks off work and Yoongi can't just be shut in his nursery like an... an object."

"Hey," Namjoon said softly, grabbing his husband's hands. "We'll get through it, hm? We'll figure something out. Yoongi's nursery is out of sight and we'll just have to be cautious. He certainly isn't as resistant as he was when he first came here, which is good. He still... clearly wants to leave, but it'll be easier to keep him away from your mother."

"You're right. I'm worrying too much," Seokjin mumbled, squeezing his husbands hand. "... I completely forgot to disable the baby monitor. Yoongi could've just made the smallest noise and-"

"You're worrying again," Namjoon sing-songed, but leaned in and kissed Seokjin for a few short passionate seconds. "Yoongi's fine. Halloween break is only in a week. Perhaps you can persuade your mother to leave it until then? That way I can distract Yoongi in his nursery - the door locked- while you talk business."

Seokjin snorted. "Talk business? You're such a dork," he teased. "But sure, that could work. What would I do without you?" he hummed, kissing his husband.

Namjoon chuckled, reaching for another treat. "You'd have no one to eat and enjoy your cooking," he grinned, biting into the pastry. Seokjin smiled.

"I can't say no, either. She owns this house and she can take this house. We'd have no place of our own to take care of Yoongi. He's been through so much already, we can't do that to him," he added.

"And we won't have to. You can still be a writer while dressed in a sexy business suit." Namjoon wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, but it was only playful banter.

"You'd love that, wouldn't you?" Seokjin chuckled. The conversation turned away from the worry and the two husbands spoke of how their day went, the writer happily stating about Yoongi asking for his stuffed bear and speaking more so than usual.
