Chapter Eleven

The week was full of team spirit and everyone was serious about the game coming up next week.
As cheerleaders, we had to practice everyday after school which made me always tired because I still had to work at the diner.

I was at the diner after one of the tiring practices. I yawned every five seconds from lack of sleep.

The bell attached to the door rung, signaling costumers have stepped in because there was an eruption of laughter after that.
They sat at my side of the diner and I growled in frustration before heading to take their orders.

"Welcome to Sammy's diner, can I get your order" I recited the stupid lines we were forced by our boss to say.

After writing in their orders and turning to leave, I heard a familiar voice from the table.

"Serena" I turned and it was Lucas of course

"Hey" I replied and continued walking, eager to get their orders and have a quick nap before another customer steps in.

I didn't know he got up and followed me. After handing the chef their orders, I turned and saw him.

"Hi, how are you" he asked

"I'm okay" I nodded.

"I haven't seen you in a while now and I didn't know you worked here"

"I've been so busy lately"

"I see that" he smiled. That heart melting smile.
"Could we hang out after this?"

My eyes lit up. Lucas was asking me out
"He isn't asking you out, stupid, he specifically said hanging out"

"Uh, I'm not sure I'm really exhausted"

"If you faint, I'll carry you" he grinned cockily.

I laughed and thought about it for a moment.

"Okay" I said and he smiled ear to ear. "But I close very late" I told him.

"I'll wait"

I got their orders from the chef
"Here let me help" he offered taking the tray from me.

"Thanks" I smiled lazily

I continued working and some minutes later, Lucas' friends left and he sat there alone waiting for me and pressing his phone. His muscles tensing as he scrolled through it.

He turned to me as my eyes were fixed at him.
Oh God.. He caught me staring. My face turned red and he winked.

"Is that cute guy waiting for you?" Ashley said from behind me

I turned to her "Uh.. No, I mean yes" I blushed

"Are you blushing" she teased.

"What! No"

She laughed "You should go, I'll take care of the rest of the customers"

"No I can't leave you here"

"I did this alone when you weren't here, I can take care of it don't worry"

I looked at her for a moment deciding whether to or not, I didn't like the idea of it.

"Okay, but I'll make it up tomorrow" I said

"Whatever just go, he has been waiting"

"Thanks" I told her before taking off my apron.

I went over to where Lucas was seated.

"Hey, we can go now"

He checked his time "You went off actually early"
