I looked into the mirror beside my bed, my face was puffy and my eyes were red from so much crying, my hair was in a mess.
The cast on my hand was filled with signatures from my classmates that came to see me.
I looked like a mess. How was I gonna face school tomorrow?.

"Please Serena" I heard mom say again.

I stood up and unlocked the door, mom stood outside my room. Sadness washed through her.

I looked behind her towards the stairs.
"He left" she answered my obvious question.

I went to sit at the edge of the bed while she came in and sat beside me.
"I know how you feel Serena, but you don't have to go through this now, can you just try to get better"

I sniffed and rubbed my eyes.
"I've heard you mom"

"Does your arm still hurt?"

I nodded "But it's nothing I can't handle" I forced a smile.

She smiled too "I love you baby"

"I love you too"

"Serena you don't have to go to school today" mom said for like the tenth time this morning.

"Mom don't worry about me" I told her still eating my cereal "I'll be fine"

"You can just wait till your bandage is off"

"It doesn't matter mom, besides it on my left hand so I can still do anything"

I was dropping my plates in the sink when Emily came in.

"Morning ma'am" she chirped.

"Oh hey Emily, how are you?"

"I'm good." she turned to me "Are you ready?"

"Yeah I just need to get my bag upstairs" I turned to go.

"Just stay here I'll get it" mom said.

"Mom!"
Before I could protest further she already went upstairs.

"If this is how your mom has been treating you, then I should really get into an accident" Emily joked.

"It's not funny, it's so annoying. Can you believe she doesn't even want me to go to school"

Her eyes widened "I'm definitely getting myself into an accident"

I rolled my eyes and mom came down with my bag.
Emily took my bag from her.

"Really??" I told her.

"Serena please be careful" Mom said.

"Don't worry, I'll take good care of her" Emily said to mom.

"Thanks Emily"

We finally got into the car and started driving to school.

"How has school been, I feel kind of nervous" I said.

She chuckled "Why would you be, everyone misses you even the teachers."

"Really??"
I never thought that anyone will miss me, like, I've always been a nobody.

"Yeah" she nodded.

"Wow"

We got to school in no time and went to our lockers, few people had their eyes on me, which I just ignored.
I hope no one knew about everything. Who am I kidding, they all know.
