Chapter Thirteen

Emily's car horn blared as I was getting my feet into my sneakers.

She horned again, louder this time and I had to rush into the car without getting my shoe lace done.

"What is wrong with you" I rolled my eyes.

"I couldn't wait anymore, you have to tell me everything that happened with you and Lucas, I cant believe you are together, OMG, we could go on a double date" she gushed out

I widened my eyes "First off, we aren't together, secondly move this car or we'll get another detention"

She obeyed in silence still feeling excited.
I told her all that happened and the almost kiss with him.

"Oh my God" she screamed "Lucas almost kissed you"
"Why didn't you kiss him"

"It was all going too fast, Em, I couldn't do it"

"True, but you like him, don't you?"

"I do" I admitted as my cheeks went red.

"You're blushing" she said excitedly

"Why are you looking at me, put your eyes on the road"

She rolled her eyes.

"But I don't want to see him, I embarassed myself one too many times and again he fucking tried to kiss me" I said to her

She laughed "I get, but its not easy to avoid a guy like Lucas"

That was true but I have to at least try.

It was Thursday and the big game was tomorrow, I successfully avoided Lucas throughout the week, it was extremely hard though.

I was packing up my stuffs in the gym after hours of practice when guys from the team started trooping into the gym.
Lucas could be here.

I slunged my bag over my shoulder and started heading out fast when someone grabbed my upper arm.

I knew it was him, without looking.
I turned and looked into his bright blue eyes, his hair was sticky from the sweat and it was all over his forehead. He was on the football jersey and his cologne filled the air around us.

I forgot how gorgeous he was and I actually missed him.
"Hey Lucas" I flashed a smile

"Cupcake, why have you been avoiding me"

"I haven't"

"When I see you down the hallway you turn and walk away, after classes we have together, you leave quickly, even when I meet your gaze you look away"

"Probably a coincidence" I said

"You haven't even texted me back, Serena did I do something wrong?" He ran his fingers through his hair.

"No, you didn't"

"Then what's wrong" confusion and sadness in his voice.

"I.. I" I looked around for the right words.

"I get it, its because of the almost kiss"

"What..not really" I couldn't deny it

"I'm sorry for trying to kiss you, can we at least be friends"

I was releived, I nodded
"Yes"

"Good. because I missed you"
I gave him a look

"I missed hanging out with you" He corrected and I laughed

"Get in the shower, you stink" I told him

He smirked "You wanna come in with me"

My jaw dropped from shock.

"That was a joke" He laughed "You should have seen your face"

I laughed nervously "Okay bye gotta go"

"Can I at least call you tonight"

"Yeah sure you can," I replied and he smiled.
