Chapter Twenty

I carried my stuffs and went after Emily to the direction she left.
I followed her till she reached the gym.
I just hope she believes me. Why would I even lie to her.

"Matt" she called out and I stood a couple feets behind her.
Matt came out of the boys locker room. He glanced at me and then looked at Emily.

"Babe what's wrong" he asked innocently and I scoffed.

"Nothing I just missed you" she said and hugged him

She seriously didn't believe me.

"Let's go to the cafeteria" he said to her and they walked away.

She eyed me in distate before they left the gym and Matt winked at me, was she really this oblivious??.

The door to the boys locker room opened and Lena came out. Her hair was disheveled and some of her buttons were opened. She was obviously in there with Matt.

I turned back and Emily and Matt were long gone.
"You really couldn't keep your mouth shut" Lena sneered at me "And now she hates you for 'lying' against her boyfriend"

"Why are you doing this" I glared at her.

"Oh shut up scholarship girl" she rolled her eyes.

This was exactly what I was trying to avoid when I came to this school.

"Matt likes me more, Emily is too.. boring" she said again.

"You won't get away with this Lena" I said with gritted teeth

"I always get away with everything" she laughed before exiting the gym.

I was furious, mostly because Emily didn't believe, did she think I was trying to break her relationship. I would never do that to her.
  
   I sat on one of the bleachers in the gym, my palm in my hands.
I felt someone sit next to me.
"Hey what's wrong?"

I looked up. It was Lucas.

"Nothing I can't handle" I gave him an assuring smile.

"I saw Lena leaving the gym, did anything happen"

I sighed. "Remember yesterday when I got out from the dress shop at the mall"

"Yeah"

"Well I saw Lena and Matt kissing"

His eyes widened in surprise.

"You didn't know about it?" I asked

"What makes you think I would know?" he raised a brow.

"Considering you're his friend" I shrugged.

"If I knew that, I would've told you"

"Really" I smirked.

"Sure" he rolled his eyes playfully "Can you just continue with the story"

"Oh yeah, I told Emily about it today and she didn't believe me, I think she thinks I'm trying to break off her relationship" I finished with a sigh.

He was silent at first before speaking "She'll eventually find out one day and come around"

I nodded and he draped his hands round me.
My cheeks went red as I snuggled closer.

"Was I a bad friend by telling her?" I said into his chest.

"No, you did the right thing"

I raised my head to look at him, his arms still on my shoulders. His face inches from mine.
"Thank you for listening to me"

He linked his fingers to mine.
"I'll always listen to you"

We stared into each others eyes for a while before my lips met his as I closed my eyes. He kissed me back and butterflies erupted in my stomach.
My free hand went to his neck, deepening the kiss.

We pulled back after a moment and my cheeks flushed as I looked down.
He held my chin up.

"I like you very much, Serena"

Oh my goodness, he actually likes me. I'm pretty sure I was looking like a tomato right now or even worse.
"I like you too" I said to him.

"But there's something I should tell you" he said and the bell rang loudly signaling the end of lunch.

"I have to get to class" I stood up, I couldn't remove the smile plastered on my face.

"Okay" he grinned "I'll see you after school?"

"Sure" I walked to class feeling on cloud 9.
