I was walking home from work a few days later when a car pulled up beside me, the glass wound down and revealed Lena. What does she want.

"Get in the car" she said.

"What, I don't need a ride" I replied, my brows furrowed.

"I don't want to give you a ride" she rolled her eyes and pointed to a moving car "That's my dad's car, your mom is inside and I want to show you I'm right"

"How do you know that?"

"Look, I'm positive about this. Just get in the fucking car" she rolled her eyes.

I was hesitant for a moment before I turned to the passengers door and entered the car.

She continued following the car as I put my seat belt on.

We drove in silence and after a while the black expensive looking Ferrari stopped in front of my house and Lena parked at a stalking distance opposite the house.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw mom get down from the car and wave at Lena's dad before he drove off.

So mom was actually having an affair, well I wouldn't call it affair since she ain't married but I didn't imagine her with a married man!

"Can you see that your whore of a mom is messing up my family" she said "My mom's on a business trip doesn't mean she can just mess around with my dad. You better...."

"I get it Lena I'll talk to her and you don't need to call her names, your dad is in this too" I snapped at her.

She sighed "I'm sorry, I'm just getting sick and tired of my dad marrying all the time"

My eyes widened in surprise. One she said sorry and, Two her dad?!

She explained further "I've had a lot of stepmoms over the years and at the end they always leave him not without taking his money. It breaks his heart and I'm just tired of seeing seeing him that way" her voice was on the bridge of tears.

She continued "Everyone thinks I'm this mean girl at school and my friends are my friends because of my dad's money"

She started crying for real this time, her palms on her face and it was weird seeing her like this. It was this same girl that has made school hard for me.

I tried to resist the urge to pull her into a hug.
Well who cares.
I hugged her and let her cry on my shoulders.
Okay seriously I should get the miss nice awards.

She cried for a while.
I know she needed a friend but I'm not that nice. She was still the annoying bitchy Lena.

We pulled away and she looked out the window.
"How are you still this nice to me regardless of what I've done to you" she sniffed "I know I can't be forgiven but I hope you accept my apology"

I sighed deeply "I have to go"

She rubbed her eyes and nodded "Me too"

I got down from the car and crossed the little road to my house.
Can this night get any weirder??

I entered the house and after dropping my bag on the couch, I headed to the kitchen.

"Hey honey" mom smiled "Do you want some ice cream?"

She brought out a big bowl of it from a paper bag.
"Where did you get this from?" I asked facing her

"What do you mean, I bought it"

"Mom I saw you get down from a car, a man's car!"

She dropped the plate and looked at me.
"He dropped me off" she answered simply.

"Why are you doing this, he has a family and a daughter who is the most annoying human I know"

"I'm not doing anything with him, Serena, we're just friends nothing more. I know he has...a wife"

I didn't fail to notice how she said the 'wife' but chose to ignore it.

"Is it about his money?"

"What! No"

"Mom, please..."

"I wouldn't do anything like that Serena, just forget it and let's eat"

I looked at it "Did he buy it?"

"No, I did"
I looked at her suspiciously

"I promise" she chuckled.

We sat and began devouring the vanilla ice cream.
"So you don't like his daughter?" she asked.

"That's an understatement"

"Why?" she asked curiously.

"Mom, she's a bitch, not nice and she's done uncountable things to me, she hates me and she was even the one who set me up with her laptop"

Her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Why will she do that?"

I shrugged "As I said she hates me"

"I'm sorry Serena"

I looked at her "Why are you sorry?"

She shrugged "Nothing really"

I looked at her for a while before facing my ice cream back.
