Chapter Twenty-One

The week flew by with me hanging out with Lucas all through.

Lucas.

He made me feel so happy and I felt much more comfortable around him than with any other guy. We hung out a lot lately and he was always in the diner waiting for me until I was done with my shift before he would take me home.

He was the only one I talked to after Emily was mad at me for supposedly telling her the truth.

She came with Matt to the diner sometimes and it really pissed me off cos she was too blind to see that she would get hurt sooner or later. She was so angry with me and doesn't even look at me, I didn't care less.

It was Saturday and I just woke up after hearing an eruption of laughter from downstairs.
Last time I checked, only me and mom lived in this house, could it be dad??!. No, it might be a dream.

I stood up and brushed my teeth before heading downstairs.
There was another laughter from my mom and someone else and I knew it was no dream.

I got downstairs and I was surprised to see Lucas with my mom talking and laughing. What the actual hell.
I didn't expect this at all.

"What's going on here?"
The both turned to me, Lucas looked up and down at me and I realized I was only wearing a micky mouse top and matching tiny shorts.
He smirked.

I regretted coming down here. My cheeks flushed in embarrassment as I went to sit down quickly beside him.
"What's so funny" I said again.

"Your mom was just telling me about your 3rd birthday"

"Mom!" I yelled and she turned away pretending to check for something.

On my 3rd birthday I insisted on not wearing anything that day and so I was naked throughout my birthday party and now mom has told Lucas about it. My social life is officially over!.
Thank God she didn't show him pictures.

Mom grabbed her bag from the counter "Okay bye honey, I'm going grocery shopping"

"Ruin my life and leave the house" I said to her and she laughed.

"Nice meeting you Lucas" she said to him and winked.

"The pleasure is all mine" Lucas said with his killer smile before she finally left.

"Did she just-Oh my gosh" I face palmed myself and Lucas chuckled.

He shifted my stool towards his' easily and ran ran his hands through my hair.
"You're so beautiful even when you wake up"

I bit my lips trying to hide the blush coming through.
"What has she told you?"

He shrugged and smirked "Enough to make me want to be in your 3rd birthday party"

Oh God, what a jerk

"What are you doing here anyway?"

"I missed you"

"Pretty sure we saw last night and then talked on the phone till 2am" I smiled.

"Yeah, I just can't get enough of you" he said and kissed me softly.
"So what's your plan for today?"

"Nothing, lie down all day" I told him.

"That will be so boring"

I shrugged.
"Let's go somewhere" he said and stood up.

"Where?"

"It's a surprise, just come on" he smiled.

"Okay but I have to change first" I stood to go upstairs.
