Chapter Twenty-Six

I came into school the next day happily with a smile plastered on my face. I had dropped Lucas' laptop with the principal and she said she would watch it later.
We edited some parts of the video obviously.

After few classes it was lunch so I went to the cafeteria and bought some food.

On my way to my usual spot, Lena stepped at my front and I smiled warmly at her.

She gave me a weird look.
"What are you doing here, you're meant to be on your two weeks suspension" she sneered

"Oh I came for an important purpose"

"Whatever I'm actually glad I saw you to tell you how I still got Lucas back, I always told you he wanted me and not you"

"Oh I knew that too" I shrugged letting her enjoy the moment.

She eyed me suspiciously wondering why I was so cool with it. Then next thing the speakers buzzed loudly.

"Serena Louis and Lena Anderson report to the principals office immediately"

I grinned

"I guess they found out you're in school" Lena said to me.

"Yeah I guess" I said before she walked out.

I turned to Lucas where he sat with his friends at a table and smiled at him, he winked before I walked to the direction Lena went.

We got to the principals office where she sat with the laptop facing her, she told us to have a seat before turning the laptop to Lena and playing it.

Lena watched it horrifyingly when she realized what it was.

"So Lena it seems you actually put that laptop in Serena's bag"

"I-I" she was rendered speechless and I smiled happily.

"Well you're getting a month of school service, you're gonna be cleaning the field everyday after school for two weeks" she concluded.

"What!" Lena screamed "I can't do that"

"Dismissed" Mrs Crawford said and handed Lucas' laptop to me

"I'm sorry for whatever pain the suspension has caused you" she told me

"Oh its no problem ma'am" I said before standing to leave the office while Lena sobbed quietly.

What's it with her, it's just to clean and she was crying her eyes out. I bet she has never cleaned in her entire life.

I met Lucas outside the office and embraced him warmly.
We pulled away later on with his hands still on my waist.
"What did she get?"

"Cleaning the field everyday for two weeks" I smiled.

"She deserved it"

"Thank you for helping me"

He nodded as the door opened and Lena came out, her make up smeared on her face. I was loving the way she looked right now.

"The both of you planned this" so screamed stating the obvious fact then turned to Lucas "You did this for her"

"Of course yeah" he said pulling me closer to him.

"You know Lena, you always think you're smart but you're not even close to that" I said to her.

"You will pay for this both of you especially you Lucas" she said.

She took one look at us before storming off.
I turned to Lucas and smiled at him while he continued watching her walk away with a panic look on his face.
"Hey,don't mind what she says, she can't do anything" I told him.

"Uh- yeah I know" he tried to smile but I knew there was something bothering him.

The week flew by smoothly with just Lucas and I hanging out pretty well. We went to movies, parks and different other places.

Right now I was waiting for him to come pick me up from the diner when the bell of the diner clanked signaling a customer stepped in.

It was definitely Lucas, I looked up and my smile faded away when I saw who it was.

Emily.

"Uh, we're closed" I said trying not to sound bitchy.
She look disorganized and her eyes were puffy from crying too much.
Well I didn't care less.

"I came to see you Serena, can we talk?"

"Last time I checked you didn't want to talk to me and I really don't want to talk to you either" I replied still cleaning the tables.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you" she started crying again "I just broke up with Matt"

I really wanted to roll my eyes but I was too concerned to do that.
I stood straight and faced her.
"Are you okay?"

She rubbed her eyes and sat on a chair.
"I'm fine I guess, I will be" she said, her voice cracked "I just wanted to apologize cos you were right, I saw him making out with Alexa in his car"

Wow, so it wasn't just Lena then.

She busted out into tears and I rubbed her back.
"C'mon I'll get you home"

I put off all the lights and locked up before sending a quick message to Lucas telling him not to bother picking me up.

I drove her home in her car and tucked her in bed.
"I'm really sorry Serena, I feel very bad and don't deserve any of this"

"It's okay Em, I totally forgive you"

She smiled feeling relieved.
"I should have believed you"

I shrugged before getting up.
"I need to go home, you should get some sleep" I told her and she nodded.

"Goodnight"

"Night"
