Chapter Twenty-Seven

I was leaving the gym after cheerleading practice when I saw Lena doing her daily cleaning of the field. She looked so tired and fed up and I couldn't help but smile.

I continued walking away when she yelled my name.
I turned to her "What?"

"You like seeing me like this, don't you?"

"No Lena, I love seeing you like this"

She groaned in anger.
"Anyway, I wanted to tell you something"

"Why will I want to hear anything from you"

She shrugged "Don't you wanna know why Lucas and I broke up last summer"

I looked at her suspiciously. I actually did want to know but wanted to hear it from Lucas.
It wouldn't hurt if I heard it from Lena right?
Lena might be planning something big, her next move probably.

"Okay fine, meet me at the diner by 9"

"Sounds like fun"

"Ew fun with you. Hell no"

She smiled as I walked away.

It was nine already and my shift was just over. I called Lucas and he answered on the second ring.

"Hey cupcake"

"Lucas. Uh don't bother picking me up tonight"

"Serena this is the second time you're bailing, is there something wrong"

"I told you Emily needed me yesterday and now I gotta- do some things"

He paused "Why did you even help Emily, she totally hated you"

I spotted Lena walk through the doors of the diner.
"Um.. Lucas I gotta go. Bye. Love you" I said quickly and hung up.

I went over to the table Lena was in and sat opposite her.
"Okay Lena. Begin"

"Woah, slow down I'm really thirsty I need a smoothie first"

"My shift is over and the diner's closed"

She looked at the counter and then at me.
"Okay whatever."

"Lucas and I dated for a year so and everything was all serious- at least that's what I thought"

So Lucas had dated Lena for a year. How did I not know that?

"Anyway we spent summer at my dad's cabin in Chicago and we had lots of fun" she smiled.

I scrunched up my face "Cut to the chase, Lena"

She rolled her eyes "Okay. He took my v-card there and there and broke up with me"

Did she seriously think I'm going to believe what she just said right now.
"You never tell the truth Lena, why should I even believe you"

She shrugged "I'm telling the truth"

I stood up to leave.

"I'm not done" she said.

I stopped, turned to her and sat down back.

She continued "I found out later why he did it. It was some stupid bet he made with his friends to take my v-card, so watch out Serena he might be doing the same for you"

I stood up quickly "Okay now I know you're lying. Lucas would never do that to you or anyone else"

She laughed "You really don't know Lucas then"

"I should have seen this coming as one of your stupid plan to try and break Lucas and I up cos you still like him"

"You think I like him" she scoffed and stood up "I was just doing all that to spite you"

I rolled my eyes.

"I've told you what happened and if you don't believe me you can ask him yourself" and with that she walked away.

I walked home not bothering about what Lena said. Hell she was a freaking liar.
I can't believe I just wasted my time with her, she was so annoying and I didn't see one of her stupid plan coming up.

I got home and went straight to my room, and after having a quick shower I settled on my bed to sleep.

I clutched the bracelet Lucas gave me on my wrist. I've never taken if off since he gave me.
It was too beautiful and I was scared it will get lost.

I smiled to sleep thinking of Lucas.

The next day Emily and I were in the cafeteria and she was chatting away about some celebrities.

I glanced at Lucas and caught him staring at me.
He smiled and I gave him one back.

"Really Serena!" Emily said smirking.

"What?" my face went red.

"You haven't even given me details about Lucas, and I have to say I told you he was into you from the beginning"

"Yeah whatever"

"So" she snapped hee fingers at me "Details"

I don't even know how Emily was still giddy and excited when she just broke up with her boyfriend she was really a strong girl.
He didn't deserve her anyway.

I told her all about the first kiss with Lucas and second, then how we went out a lot.
I left some details obviously.

She just listened carefully. Her palms on her jaw in a dreamy way.
"And that's it" I completed it.

"Awwn. You guys are so cute"

"Thanks. Anyway I need your help to pick out a dress for Lucas' mom's birthday"

"You came to the right person" she smiled.
