Chapter Thirty Four

I was stuffing some books into my locker after a class when I saw Lucas talking to some friends, I watched his every move and the way he talked, laughed and how his dimples flashed in the process.

I missed him so much and I was going to get him back.
No one will stop me this time. I shut my locker and started walking towards him.

Lena came in front of me.
"What!?" I snapped at her.

Her eyes softened "I wanted us to hang out and maybe talk"

Really??. "There's nothing to talk to you about" I folded my arms. "And I have somewhere to go"

I glanced at Lucas who was already leaving.

"Please Serena" she said again.

I turned to her "What exactly do you want?"

"I'm.. I'm sorry for how I've treated you"

"Yeah I've heard that after you made me loose my boyfriend and my bestfriend once and then before that you made me look like a theif and oh then you shredded my cheer outfit" I said angrily
"And you just think sorry will make everything okay"

She looked down feeling bad I guess, then the bell rang.

I glanced at her one more time before getting to my next class.

I spotted Emily at calculus and went to sit beside her.
"Where have you been" she whispered

I sighed "Talking with Lena"

Her eyes widened in surprise. "What!?"

I explained everything to her silently praying the teacher wouldn't catch us, I can't afford a detention.

"Do you believe her? " she asked.

"Of course not!, I bet she's planning her next move"

"I know right"

"Besides.. I have other things to be worried about..." I looked over at Lucas.
She followed my gaze

"Have you talked to him yet?"

"No. Em.. It's not so easy, I'm so scared"

"Why would you be scared?" she asked

"What if he doesn't want me back" I sighed

"Why wouldn't he, like who wouldn't. Serena you're beautiful, strong, independent, nice and very intelligent. Trust me he would want you back"

I smiled "Thanks Emily, what will I do without you"

She smiled back at me before we faced our attention back to the class.

This is definitely it, I walked towards Lucas as he was getting into his car after school.

He was surprised to see me. He shut the car and came towards me.

"Hey" I said

"Serena?" confusion etched to his voice.

"Uh.. I was wondering if we could talk" I fiddled with my damp fingers.

"Okay" he says.

I looked around "Can we go somewhere?"

"No.. I mean, I have somewhere to get to"

Sadness washed through me, I wasn't important anymore, whatever he was doing was better than talking to me.

"You can say whatever you want to say here" he said softly

"I.. I realized I didn't give you a chance to explain things and I wanted to do that now"

He raised a brow "It doesn't matter anymore right, you broke it off with me"

"Yes but.."

"Serena you can't just do this because my friend put you up to it"

How did he know about that.

"That's really not why"

"I have to go" he said again and got into his car

A tear escaped my eyes as he drove off, he left me, he didn't want me again. I was an idiot to think everything would go back to the way it was.
Hell, who gets back with their ex.

I eventually started going home. The sad long walk back home.

I got a call from Emily the minute I got home.

"Hey, what's up" she said

"It's really over Em"

"Did you talk to him?"

"He doesn't even want to talk to me, he doesn't want to have anything to do with me"

"That's not true, Serena"

"It seemed like it" I shrugged even though she couldn't see me.

"It'll be okay" she told me
"Anyway I wanted to tell you I'll be going on a family vacation this weekend to Toronto"

"That's great, have fun"

"I want you to come" she said again.

"You specifically said 'family vacation' "

"Yeah but we are family"

I smiled.
"I appreciate but I can't, you should really spend more time with your family" I told her.

"I would have loved you to come, a vacation is what you need"

"Don't worry about me, Em"

"I'll try... I have to go and pack my stuffs, I'll call you tomorrow ok?"

"Okay bye"

She hunged up and I jumped on my bed felling exhausted.
