Chapter Twenty-Four

I stepped into school two days later and felt everyone staring at me. It was horrible and embarrassing.

I headed to class quickly without stopping by my locker.

"Serena Louis come to the principals office now, Serena Louis come to the principals office now" buzzed in the whole school.
Do they even have to mention it twice, and I haven't even gotten to my class yet.

I felt more eyes on me as I turned to the direction of the office.
This was officially a walk of shame.

Hopefully the principal would be nice... Who am I kidding. How would she be nice when all her students are devil incarnates.

I pushed the doors of the principals office and Lena was already seated while the principal a dark skinned woman with over long hair, perfect brows and deep red lipstick sat behind her desk. There was a name tag sitting on her desk that read 'Mrs Crawford'

I took a seat beside Lena who flipped her hair, while I rolled my eyes.

"Miss Louis can you explain what happened" Mrs Crawford spoke up.

"Whatever Lena told you, happened" I replied, ready to face whatever punishment I would be given.

"Did you take the laptop?" she asked again.

"It was in her bag, she obviously-" Lena tried to say.

"Lena!" she warned fiercely and Lena shut up.

"I didn't take it" I told her simply.

"So how did it get into your bag?" Mrs Crawford asked again.

"I don't know okay- someone somehow managed to slip it inside" I looked at Lena and she rolled her eyes.

"Since you can't defend yourself in anyway I will have to punish you"

"Yeah whatever" I said

"Two weeks suspension"

"What the hell!" I exclaimed and Lena smiled evily.

"Language" the woman said to me

I stood up "Like seriously, two weeks suspension for laptop I didn't take!, and by the way she even got back"

"Those are the rules, Serena" she said.

"Well its bullshit because if I really took that laptop I wouldn't even let her search my bag" I was beyond pissed. I didn't even realize I was shouting.

I turned and left the office, my eyes glossy.
I met Lucas leaning on the wall outside the office.

"Hey, what did she say"

"Two weeks suspension" I replied cooly

He wasn't surprised "Let me take you home"

"No Lucas- I appreciate but you need to be in school, you already missed two days with me"

He nodded in understanding and kissed my forehead.
"Take care of yourself"

"I will" I said before walking out

The walk back home was just what I needed to clear my head. Two whole weeks of suspension, this school is the worst on this planet!

I got home after the 20 minutes walk that felt like 2 hours.

I took off my shoes and saw mom in the sitting room.
"Mom, What are you doing home?"

"I'll ask the questions here" she said and stood up from the couch.
I sighed.

"I got a call from the school, saying my daughter stole a laptop??"

I sat on the couch, my eyes down.
"How did it get to your bag?" she asked again.

I looked up at her, my eyes lit "You don't think I took it"

"I know you didn't honey, I raised you better than that"

"Thanks mom" I smiled

"But who did it?"

I rolled my eyes "It's the owner of the stupid laptop, a really annoying girl"

"Why would she do that?"

I shrugged "She has always hated me, and I don't know why"

She looked at me with concern before getting up.
"I have to get back to work, will you be okay by yourself"

"Yes mom, I'm sure the two weeks will be done in no time"

She smiled at me before leaving the house.
I stood up and got a drink from the fridge before putting on the TV.

The channels were boring to me, it's just been a day and I was already bored. Then what will happen in the next Two weeks!

Oh God.
