Virgil couldn't help glancing over every couple of seconds at his friends. He watched the two of them standing close, hands lacing together and swinging between them as they walked. The two of them were talking, but he was too busy with his own thoughts. He found himself wanting to reach out to Patton beside of him, to take his hand just like he was holding Logan's. He forced himself to glance away whenever Patton turned to face him, looking back ahead of them as they walked.

"Virge? Did you hear me?" He asked, and Virgil nervously chewed his bottom lip, shaking his head slowly. Patton just smiled at asked him again, relieving Virgil. He tried not to keep looking over at the pair holding hands but found he couldn't help it. This time however, when Patton sent him a look to get his input on the conversation, he got caught. He looked up at Patton with wide eyes and then looked away, answering his question quickly, stumbling over his words.

He suddenly felt something touch his hand, and jumped. When he glanced down he saw Patton had reached out to grab his hand, and when he slowly looked up at his friend he was still smiling brightly. Returning the smile with his own nervous one Virgil felt his face burn, letting his friend take his hand as they continued conversation. It seemed even Logan had noticed Virgil's reaction-so why did neither of them seem to mind? Didn't they think he was acting weird?

Virgil found that, somehow, he didn't care. Compared to his hands Patton's were warm and soft, a welcome feeling in the chilly autumn air. He smiled, his warm cheeks only further helping against the cold, and although he was embarrassed Virgil really liked holding Patton's hand.

"Hey," Patton spoke up, raising his and Virgil's joined hands to point up to a small hill. "Why don't we go sit down and talk over there?"

After all agreeing the three made their way upwards, finding themselves underneath one of the biggest trees in the park. The ground was covered in red, orange, and yellow leaves, leaving barely any grass showing. They each sat down in front of the tree, Virgil and Logan leaning against it with Patton sitting in front of them.

"It's really pretty out here," Virgil mentioned, leaning his head back against the tree to stare up at the leaves above him. There were still quite a few leaves attached to the trees limbs, although they all looked very close to falling.

"Yeah, fall is always super pretty!" Patton agreed, picking up an orange leaf and twirling it by the stem in his fingers. He had a bright smile on his lips that made Virgil want to smile along with him, cheeks still burning bright in embarrassment.

"I prefer the spring, if I am being honest. I'm not fond of the cold." Logan said, hands moving to rub his arms, an attempt to warm himself up.

"You should've worn a jacket," Virgil mumbled, frowning. He started to quickly slide his own jacket off his arms to hand to Logan. "Here, take mine."

"Virgil you don't have to-" He began, but Virgil didn't listen. Instead he took it upon himself to put the jacket on his friend for him, cutting off his protests.

"I'm fine," he answered quickly. "Really, I like the cool air."

Logan frowned but didn't complain, instead wrapped the jacket further around himself. He looked down at the sleeves that covered his hands, touching the soft fabric on the inside of the hoodie. "This... is very nice. I can see why you never want to take it off."

"Yeah," Virgil grinned. "It is really warm."

"Thank you," Logan smiled at him, Virgil noticing the slightest hint of pink in his cheeks. "It is nice of you to let me borrow it."

"No problem," Virgil muttered, glancing away from Logan's smiling face. He hated that just his friends smiles made him feel so embarrassed, leaning his head back against the tree trunk to avoid seeing either of them. As soon as he looked up, though, a leaf decided to fall from the tree, landing in his face.

Virgil simply sat there for a moment, wondering why his luck seemed to bad lately before he heard the other two begin laughing. He had to laugh along as well. He jumped when a hand touched his face, finally able to see again as they lifted the leaf off of his eyes. He found Logan, who had leaned closer to him, holding the leaf in front of him with a smile. Virgil's laugh got caught in his throat, the spot where his friend had touched him to remove the leaf feeling electric.

He wasn't thinking straight as he watched Logan, who was still chuckling along with Patton. He realized he wanted nothing more than to be closer to the both of them, to lean in even closer to Logan who was only inches away. He wanted to kiss him.

Virgil's smile dropped and he swallowed down a nervous lump in his throat. Something was wrong with him. There had to be something wrong with him. He needed to do something, to move, to get further away from Logan and Patton so he didn't do anything completely stupid. He quickly pushed himself to his feet, backing away from the two of them slightly.

"I-I-" he stuttered, finding it harder and harder to breathe. "I just remembered that I-there's something I need to.... I have to go!" Virgil turned away from the two of them, taking off down the hill and back out of the park, running in the direction of his home. He didn't know what he was doing or why, just that he needed to get out of there because there was something wrong with him.

He didn't hear as Patton and Logan both called out worriedly to him, also standing quickly to try and get to him. He had already gotten too far away for them to catch up to him after they got to their feet. They were left confused and worried, wondering just what had gone wrong.
