I'm so sorry for the long wait!! I was on vacation for a while and didn't have the time to work on updates, but I'm back now and should be uploading regularly again!
"Hey, Logan." Patton greeted his boyfriend in front of their school the following Monday morning, rubbing his eyes tiredly and trying to hide a yawn.
"Good morning, Patton." Logan nodded at him, seeming just as tired. As he got closer Patton opened his arms, Logan accepting the offer of a hug immediately without thinking about it. He wrapped his arms around Patton, noting how he leaned into Logan and yawned again. "Are you doing alright?"
"I'm okay," Patton mumbled, pulling back slightly to look up at Logan with a tired smile. "Just a little tired is all."
All Logan had to do was give his boyfriend a look before he sighed, giving in and slumping against him again. Logan held him up easily, arms wrapping around him comfortingly. "What is troubling you, Patton?"
"I... haven't slept very well, this weekend." Patton answered honestly, hiding his face in Logan's chest and fighting back tears. "Just been thinking about everything... with Virgil, and Roman. It's nothing new, really. I should... I should just ignore it. There's nothing I can really do..."
"I understand how you feel, Patton." Logan assured him, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "Though I hope you are aware that you don't have to be alone through all of this. If you need me at any time, let me know. I... have also been staying up fairly late recently, so I assure you, you will not be bothering me."
Patton frowned, pulling back from the hug yet again to look up at Logan. He took a hold of one of Logan's hands, feeling concerned. "Are you doing okay? You can talk to me too, Logan."
"It's... I'm fine," Logan insisted, shaking his head. "I simply want to be here for you. Don't worry over me."
"Yeah, cause you saying that is really going to stop me." Patton huffed, squeezing Logan's hand comfortingly. "Logan, talk to me. I want to be here for you too! I love you, and you should always be able to talk to me if you need it."
Logan paused, keeping quiet for a moment as he considered something. He slowly opened his mouth to speak, hesitating. "I... Well, I am also understandably upset by what's happened. It is painful to see one of our close friends blatantly ignoring us, without seeming to care how we are feeling. This... it's silly..."
Logan sighed, looking down at the ground as he tried to turn his feelings into words. It was far more difficult than it should be, and it took him a while to get his thoughts together. "I understand that he has his reasons. It truly should not affect me as much as it currently is, and yet... I have found that it is impossible to logic away my emotions. I still feel... anger, and sadness. I just wish everything could go back to normal. Before any of this happened."
Logan frowned as he finished his explanation, hand that Patton was not holding on to reaching up to wipe at his eyes. A few tears had managed to slip from them. Patton immediately pulled Logan back into another hug, mumbling comforting words as Logan tried his hardest to get his crying under control.
"I'm so sorry," Patton cried, feeling Logan bury his face in his neck, a few tears falling onto his shoulder and wetting his shirt. Patton didn't mind at all, pulling him even closer and rubbing his back comfortingly.
"Why are you sorry..?" Logan managed to ask, eyes squeezed shut to prevent more tears from escaping them.
"You should have been able to talk to me sooner! If I had just taken the time to realize that you've been going through all of this too... if you didn't feel like you had to be there for me all the time... Logan, I'm so sorry. I'm here for you, always." Patton said. The two of them stayed hugging for a while, Logan calming down and both of them staying in silence.
