Chapter warnings: fighting, cheating mentions, anxiety attack mention. You might cry/want to hit me for torturing these characters.
Hi! I want to apologize for missing my last update, I have honestly been really busy and I don't think I'm going to stop being busy any time soon. I think, if you all are alright with it, I may begin updating only once a week instead of twice. It's just too much for me to keep up with, along with my other book Haunted High School, so if I only had to worry about two days instead of three it would be a little easier for me. Again, I won't decide on that until I see what you guys think because I don't want to disappoint anyone, but that would be a little bit easier on me. If I did start doing that, which day would you like for me to upload on? Mondays, or Fridays? Also, would you guys like it if I started uploading at an earlier time, like I have today? If so, please suggest a time! (Nothing before 12AM tho, I can't promise I'll be awake by then-)
Virgil felt happy and excited for the first time in a while about school being over. For a while he had dreaded going to and leaving school-it only meant he had to face his friends again, and lately that was incredibly hard for him to do. He felt guilty every time he saw either of them, but especially Patton. It was clear how much Virgil's actions had hurt him, and he wished he could fix things so badly. He just wasn't sure how.
Finding himself beginning to feel down once again Virgil reminded himself what he had to be excited for. Him and Roman were going to spend tome together alone after school, and although he wasn't sure what Roman was planning yet he knew it would be fun and he couldn't wait to see him. It was going to be a much needed distraction from his current guilt and sadness.
Time passed by incredibly slow, but eventually Virgil's teacher finally dismissed his final class, and he was making his way through the halls towards the place Roman and him always met. Roman had told Virgil that he already mentioned to Logan and Patton that they would be spending time together, so Virgil didn't have to worry about seeing them at all.
"Virgil!" Roman grinned excitedly at him as he approached, Virgil offering a small smile of his own as he made his way over to him. Roman wrapped him in a hug that Virgil happily leaned into, feeling safe and warm, and completely at peace.
"Hey, Roman." Virgil greeted, looking up at him. "So, what unnecessarily extravagant date do you have planned this time?"
"I have something a lot simpler planned today, I promise." Roman reassured, taking Virgil's hand as he released him from the hug. "Well... I suppose it is still a little... extra, but I tried to make it something you'd like."
"I'm not sure you could do anything if it wasn't a little extra." Virgil joked, following along as Roman led him in the direction of his house.
"That is fair," Roman shrugged with a laugh as the two continued making their way down the street. It didn't take long for the two of them to arrive, Roman leading Virgil into the living room before finally letting go of his hand.
"Alright, stay here. I'll be right back," Roman told Virgil, quickly darting off down the hall before Virgil could ask any questions. Virgil waited patiently, wondering what it could possibly be that Roman was planning. When he finally came back he was holding something behind his back, grin on his lips.
"...why do I feel like you're holding some sort of weapon?" Virgil asked, laughing along with Roman.
"I'm offended you would think such a thing! It's a gift, for you, and completely harmless. Although, now that I think about it I wonder if maybe you would have liked a weapon as a gift more than this." Roman paused for a minute to think as Virgil laughed, eventually shaking his head and carrying on.
