We will have our first math test tomorrow. It's mostly just review, but Mr.Hornwitz says we should study anyway.
"Whatever," I say under my breath. Mr.Hornwitz doesn't notice. The bell rings, and math class is over.
"Hey, wait up, Dash!" Someone grabs my arm. I look back to see Jackie pulling me back.
"Hey! I -" I start to say, but Jackie interrupts me.
"Did you see his sweater?!?" She giggles, and soon we are both laughing our heads off. Teachers passing by give us strange looks, but I don't care. His sweater was really ugly. Maybe not to him, but finatly to his students. It's hard to take someone seriously when they wear something like that. Which is, like, all the time. We both gather our supplies and rush off to science. Sadly, we don't have seats by each other.
"Okay, everyone! Today you will get your science books," Ms. Keja says. "When I call your table, come pick a book. Write your name on the inside of the cover. When everyone is done, I will call names so I know your book's number in case you lose it." She adds. My table is called 4th. I walk over and grab one. Hmmmm.... 38. Well, it could be worse... or not.
"Hey, I got 37!" Bolt yells. Whatever. At least your book number doesn't matter.
"Okay everyone!" Ms.Keja yells once she has everyone's book number. "For your first lab this year, you will be paired up with the person with the closest number to yours. That means, Jackie and Hef," I zone out. Why bother? Then I hear "Dash and Bolt." You have GOT to be kidding me!!! Him?!?!? Of all people... I glance over to see him grinning stupidly at me. Great. Just great. Even worse, he seems happy. As if he's enjoying it! This should be interesting.... I guess Ms. Keja thinks so too, since she has everyone go into their groups and get to know each other. Like I want to know him. I open my book and act as if I'm oblivious to the world, but this act doesn't fool Bolt. As he walks over here, he waves at every girl he passes. I swear, each and every one of them swoons. Then he looks at me. I quickly turn my attention to my book, but not before I see him smile as if we are best friends and absolutely love each other. Well, not by me, that is. It's actually the complete opposite. I downright despise him. Heh, like he doesn't already know that. I see Jackie give me a sympathetic look, and I nod. Yup, see? She feels sorry for me. At least she got put with Ash. He's waaayyyy better than Bolt. Just then, Mr.Wonderful himself comes over and sits next to me. Oh my gosh, Mr.Wonderful. I've got to stop cracking myself up. I grin, and Bolt notices.
"What are you thinking of?" He asks me with a skeptical face.
"Nothing!" I say quickly before snickering under my breath. Oh, god. This is too funny.
"Tell me!" He says over and over again, sometimes taking dramatic moves by stabbing me with a pencil and grabbing my supplies. I honestly just ignore him. Dash - 1, Bolt - 0. This goes on for a while before he gives up. I'm still snickering, but there's nothing he can do about it. The bell rings, and I head off to step up. When I get there, I'm surprised to see Twi beaming down at me.
"Uhhhhh....what are you doing here?" I ask. She just grins. Then I notice her stuff by the seat next to mine. It hits me.
"Ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh!!!!!" I squeal and give her a giant hug. I sit down and put my stuff on my desk. We start chatting.
"So, you all ready for soccer practice tomorrow morning?" I ask.
"Yup! I still can't believe I made it, though!"
"Hey, I'm definatly not complaining!" I smile. We both grin at each other for a few minutes until Ms.Lekel starts class. Yup, I had the same advisory teacher as I did step up. Wheeeeeee......oh joy. Whatever. It could be worse. By that, I mean Bolt could be here. Luckily, he is in orchestra, which means I won't be bothered by him. At least until tomorrow.

Today, we get our seats in language arts. Before, it was just wherever you wanted. Now we have no choice at all. She starts reading off names. When she gets to the back table, she says,
"Jackie, Aplo, Dash, and Bolt," as she points to each spot. Jackie and I grin at each other, even though we are on an angle from each other. Hey, it's better than nothing. Aplo is across from me, which means Bolt is.... oh no. Not here, not here, NOT HERE!!!!! Eeyup. He takes his seat next to me. Heh, just what I always wanted - NOT. All the girls glare at me for being so 'lucky' but I ignore them. I'm not any happier than they are. His friend Clarissa sits at the table behind/to the left of our table. She's also in my advisory. With any luck, he'll be busy turned around talking to her instead of us. As for group discussion, who really cares? My point is that I'm a bit upset about this arrangement. Like you couldn't already tell, right? Seriously, that would be just sad. I groan and stare at the wall next to me.
"Hey," Bolt says. I ignore him and start reading my book while still faced away.
"Hey!" he says again and starts poking me. Really? What an idiot. At least learn something good. I reach back and grab his wrist mid-poke and continue reading my book. Now, he can't do it anymore. He gasps and keeps trying to pull his hand free. Eh, good luck. I'm stronger than I look. Can't say the same for him.... I finally let him go. He already had momentum from pulling, so now he falls off the chair. Onto the floor. Oops, my bad, I think while watching him and snickering. Wow. That was perfect.
"Bolt? What happened?" Ms.Keja asks.
"Oh, I just got startled, that's all," he says with a grin. While Bolt is down, I steal his only pencil and hide it. Bolt stands up and sits back down. I continue snickering. He looks everywhere, under things, over things, I mean everywhere. However, his poor pencil is nowhere to be found. Bummer, isn't it? If only he knew where it really was.... but he doesn't. I decide to be nice and put it back exactly where it was before when he's busy looking under the table. When he sighs and comes back up, the pencil is right in front of him. He glances around, and obviously has no idea where it came from. I love doing this. Maybe it is actually a good thing he is sitting next to me. That way, I can annoy him all year. I will make things interesting.

I'm reading my books and glance at the clock. It's about 8:30 pm. Well, at least I don't have to stop. My door flies open.
"Sooooooo.... how do you like sitting next to Bolt?" Jackie asks with a grin. Awww man! I'd hoped she wouldn't bring this up...
"Fine," I says with a smirk. "You like how I snatched his pencil?" I am proud of that. Pranks are one of my best talents. So is awesomeness, coolness, and radicalness. Ooooh, yeah. One can never go wrong with that. Maybe that's why annoying Bolt is fun - I'm just too *cool, awesome, and radical* to not!
