Preston walks over and holds his hand out to me, and I take it. Laughing, I grab it and he helps me to my feet.
"Nice job, Preston. You won the Hunger Games!" I say, giving him a hug.
"Yeah, cacti are always the best," he answers proudly. I just nod and smile.
"Sooooo..... what do you guys want to do now?" Twi asks. When I turn around to look at her, I see that she is hugging Mitch. He seems pretty happy about it, too. After all, he did like her for, I don't know, since he met her? Who hates a person for that? It also helped that Unicity was upstairs. If she was here, she'd make us all outfits that match with the ones she's make for our boyfriends. Can you imagine what that would look like? Ehhhh.... I must be making a face, because Jackie asks what I'm thinking about.
"Can you imagine what Unicity would do if she were here?" I ask, and they all grimace also. No one likes it when things like this turn into a fashion show. Some people might, but not us. Flit hates being the center of attention, and I despise dressing up. Even if it is my style, no thanks. Twi would rather read than walk down the runway (and she's tried several times to do both at the same time only to get scolded by Unicity. Jackie doesn't really care, but she doesn't like dressing up, either. As for Peony, she jumps down the aisle, knocking things over and practically falling off. Plus, she just gets WAY too excited. At least the guys don't have to do it. Just then, we hear a door upstairs open. Oh, no, not this.... Unicity runs downstairs, all exctied.
"You guys! I just got an AMAZING idea!" she yells. Great. What is it now? "I'm going to make you all new outfits! You can show them off when we do a little fashion show later!" she adds, squealing at the thought of us and the boys together. Awwwww, man! Now? She grabs us all and hustles us upstairs for measurements. I guess that answers my question.
"Unicity, do we really NEED to do this every single time we have a sleepover?" I groan, watching as Twi is pulled into a room for her fitting. Unicity doesn't answer, but instead shimmies into the room and closes the door. Preston grabs my hand as he opens the door. I know exactly what he is thinking - we need to get out of here. As we sneak out, everyone else follows us.
"We want to come with you," Flit whispers. I sigh, but nod, allowing them to come with us. Now it'll be REALLY obvious that we've left. After all, the room was full one minute, and now it's just empty and silent. Oops. As we go back to the living room, I hover outside the doorway to make sure everyone can get downstairs before she comes for another 'client'. Just as Preston reaches the bottom, her door flies open. Flinching, I zoom downstairs and fly headfirst into the chair, causing it to tip over and fall, which then makes a lot of noise. Everyone turns to stare at me as we hurriedly put the chair back upright and I sit down in it, holding a book. Opening it, I turn to my favorite part - when Claire works with Darancy to defeat the terrible Alizoto, who is trying to take over the world. Classic plot, but it is surprisingly good. Unicity runs downstairs, taking me by the arm.
"It's your turn, Dash!" she squeaks excitedly. Sighing, I throw my book to Preston, who catches it as he plays Minecraft on a laptop for another video.
"And there she goes, guys," he grins, turning the camera around. "Let's she how she looks when Unicity is done with her," he adds, winking at me as I grimace and head up the stairs. Twi walks past me, giving a 'good luck' expression as she closes the door. Now alone in the fitting room, Twi waits outside with a book. Under the dim lighting, I take off my shirt and pants, crossing my arms across my chest as she measures my height and what fabric looks best with my eyes. Luckily for me, she settles with a dark blue. I was thinking it'd be pink, and just as I am about to agree, she also pulls out a roll of bright pink cloth.
"NO!" I glare as she tries to persuade me into using that.
"But I -" she starts, smirking.
"NO, and that is final!" I order, sighing and rolling my eyes. Next, she takes out about 20 different shades of blue that look similar to mine. There's something like silk, velvet, cotton, and a bunch of random other stuff. Let's see, now. Grabbing one with a nice shine to it, I open the door and ask Twi what she thinks of it. The blue is nice, and, when you wave the fabric under the light, it shines in a lighter hue with a few impressions of red. She immediately agrees, and I go back inside so Unicity can measure me.
