"What makes you think you can do that? He's an innocent person!" I shriek at the top of my lungs. Everyone gasps, staring at me. "Yeah, you heard me right. Why?" I shout.
"I'm going to let you go, this once, but soon you'll just follow in my shadow," Catanya says, glaring at me. I sit down, folding my arms and giving back the exact face she's wearing right now. Just then, she twists Mitch's arm again. That's it! I jump up, sending books scattering against the floor. Halfway up, I feel something on my jacket. By the time I'm up, my jacket is completely off, and. My. Wings. Are. Displayed. For. All. To. See. Giving a small scream, I pull my wings in towards my body as close as possible and turn around. There, behind me, is Lexi, giving me a triumphant look. In her hand is that coat I was wearing only seconds earlier. Then, she rips it in half. I'm about to strangle her when I notice everyone, even Catanya, is dead silent and staring at me in shock. I pull my wings in even tighter when I see the look on Bolt's face. I feel guilty, even though I did nothing wrong. Preston pulls me down, but I wriggle out of his grasp. Twi looks defeated and about to faint. Just then, I'm pulled backward. A hand locks around me neck, and I am lifted into the air. Struggling, I peer down to see Catanya. A smug look is on her face, but not for long. I bring my leg up, kicking her in the stomach. She doesn't let go, but winces. Grabbing at her wrists, I pry myself free and flap with all of my might. I try to get off of the ground, but she got hold of my ankle. I squirm and she falls, letting go.
"You get back here!" She yells, fury rolling off of her. Instead, I go up to the rafters of the ceiling and watch her. Rage is spread across her every move as she sits up and glares at me. My eyes widen, and I see relief on Mitch's face as he notices that she isn't on him anymore. Giving the ghost of a grin, I turn my attention back to Catanya. Rigghhhtttt she has wings.
"Great," I sigh. Jumping up, she speeds towards me, and I fly away half a second before she hits the spot I was just at. Phew! I drift for a second before pulling in my wings and diving towards the floor. Pulling myself up, I catch the ground and make a loop back to the ceiling. Looking behind me, I see that she's right on my tail. Just then, she grabs my ankle and we tumble to the floor. Chaos erupts as everyone jumps out of the stands and rushes towards us. Immediately, Twi gathers everyone together and creates an energy field, protecting them. Unicity powers it and Twi joins me. Grabbing my arm, she and Flit help me up and we take to the air. Peony and Jackie keep Catanya grounded. She shoots magic everywhere, trying to hit anyone possible.
"Dash!" I hear from Preston. I smile, and wave to him. Just as I do, I see Catanya marking him for her next target. My eyes widen, and I streak to the ground, pushing him into the energy field. Her shot misses, and gray smoke rises into the air. Flying over there, I create a draft, gathering the smoke into a ball. Looking at Twi, she nods and surrounds it with magic, and in a split second, the smoke is gone. Cool, a delete spell! Jackie yells as Catanya bursts free, jumping into me and slamming me into the wall. Gasping, I push off and fly to the ceiling. Twi attacks, her magic making a direct strike. The calm, collected girl from before is no more. Catanya's body is covered in gray streaks. Her hair is smoldering and jaggedly cut.
"Twi, watch out!" I yell as Catanya shoots a bolt at Twi and makes a run to pull down one of us from the ceiling. Twi watches, eyes wide, as the bolt strikes the wall next to her. Diving for Catanya, I spiral towards the ground and grab her arm. Bringing her up, I drop her, but she hits me first. Inhaling sharply, I take notice that my side is burning with pain. I take no notice and dive at her again. I plow into her, sending her flying. Breathing hard, I jump, pinning her against the wall. Growling, Catanya flaps her wings in my face, causing me to falter back a few steps. Coughing, I hiss as pain overcomes me. Seconds later, I am on my back, and Catanya stands over me. Charging up her bolt, she is almost ready to shoot when she is attacked by Jackie and Peony as they pull her off of me.
"Thanks," I gasp out. The shot meant for me hits the wall, and pieces fly out. Cracking, I am scared that the ceiling will collapse. Luckily, it doesn't. I stand up, and Flit and Twi grasps my arms and pull me into the air. Holding my head, I find it bleeding on my forehead. I'm not surprised.
"Are you okay?" Flit asks, looking worried.
"Yeah, fine," I sigh, and flap my wings.
"Good, you had us really worried!" Twi says, giving me a grim smile. Letting me go, I fly by myself. Mitch looks like he's in pain and incredibly worried. I notice that he is looking at me, and only me. He's making sure I'm alright! Nodding my head, I give a thumbs up. Mitch looks relieved, and Preston looks suspicious, staring at Mitch. Confusion covers his face, and I hope he isn't jealous. Once again, I'm getting sidetracked. Snapping my attention back, I see Catanya make a dash for the ceiling. Hooking on by her arms, she aims and fires at the crowd. I flap over and grab her ankles. Pulling down with all of my strength, I manage to grab her. Flinging her to the floor, I follow and snatch her leg. Streaking up to the ceiling, I bring a flailing Catanya by her leg. She pries herself loose and brings her nails down my arm, and blood flows soon after. I tear a section from the jacket that Lexi ripped and wrap it around my arm. Halfway through, Catanya jump on top of me, like a piggy back ride. Screaming, I close my eyes as she yanks back on my hair.
"Let go!!!" I yell. Bending backwards, she falls off and I limp away. Tying the makeshift bandage around my arm, I turn around and distract Catanya as Jackie and Peony hold one edge of a net. More so, it is a portal. From the magic that Twi has used, it will take her to the deepest trench in the ocean, where she will (hopefully) never be heard from again. Growling, I make a jump, bringing Catanya closer. Twi and Flit fly closer, bringing the top of the net closer. I look up, and fly straight backwards. Catanya chases me, and the net falls on her. Just before she disappears, a bolt flies from her fingers. Striking me right above my heart, I fall back. A piece of concrete slams down onto my leg, pinning me in place. Struggling to get up, I can't. As the ceiling falls apart, more and more pins me down. Screaming, I feel a rip in my wing, and the last thing I remember is a square of white falling right above me.
