Okay, it's the first day of school, and I'm SO excited. I just can't wait to hang out with all of my friends again after the long summer. I grab my skateboard and hike over to my friends' usual meeting spot under a big tree next to the sign saying Sundale High.

"Dash! Hey, Dash!!!" someone yells. I wave in the general direction it came from as I glance down at my baby blue phone to see if anyone texted me lately.

"Dash! Dash!" a bunch of people yell as I walk past.

"Hey!" someone grabs my shoulder. As I spin around, I'm greeted with the sight of Twi's face. Wow. She looks tired. I wasn't walking THAT fast, was I? Then her face breaks into a grin.

"Guess what?!?!?" she asks. Oh, no, she didn't! Oh, yes, she did.

"EEEE!!!!" we both squeal as she holds up the newest mystery novel, Doesaria And The Quest For The Golden Tomb. How does she ALWAYS get the books first?!?!? She must have seen my expression, because she reaches into her backpack and pulls yet ANOTHER book out!

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!!" I repeat over and over as I hug her. Then, I'm suddenly pulled away. When I look at who did that, I sigh.

"Hi, Peony." She jumps over and attacks me with a giant hug. After about twenty seconds, I mumble, "Uh, Peony? You can let me go now..." She only squeezes me tighter. When I start to become afraid of suffocating, she finally lets go. I grin at her as best as anyone can when they are hyperventilating.

"Uh, Peony, really..." I hear from behind me as Twi gets smothered too.

"Hi everyone!" I glance over to see Flit behind me. She squeals as she gets a hug from Peony.

"Hey, Flit!" I say as I walk over and tear Peony away.

"Oh, uh, hi Dash," she says. It's hard to hear, but then, Flit never talked loud. Then, Jackie arrives.

"Hi everyone!" she says as she gets closer. Peony gives her a signature hug, but Jackie doesn't mind. She just laughs.

"Oh!" I hear. As we all turn, Unicity rushes over. She grabs my shirt and examines it. Then, she takes out some sequins and fabric. Leave it to Unicity to always come 'prepared'. By the time she's done, my outfit looks GREAT. It was fine before, but she really knows how to make it better. When she finishes all of us, we look AWESOME! We all have skirts where they are shorter in the front and longer in the back. We also have special marks sewn in. Mine is a lighting bolt. Hey, it looks pretty sick - don't judge! The bell rings, and off we go for the first day.

-----

"Noooo!!!" I half-scream in frustration. Oh, all the advisories to be in, it had to be the one without anyone cool in it? Oh, and by that, I mean the one without ANY of my friends in it. It was the class with all of the popular gals in it. They were all friends, and I was the odd one out. To make it worse, we never really got along to begin with. While everyone talked and laughed, I sat in a quiet corner in the front of the classroom closest to the door. I sigh. Could this get any worse? Just then, Ms.Lekel, the teacher, claps her hands.

"I have a very important announcement. To get everyone going, we will have a contest." My ears perk up. Now a contest, that's fun. Maybe I can pulverize everyone in here with me... "Every advisory will work together, " enough said. I sure as heck do NOT want to participate. "to create an an advisory cheer. The best cheer will win the advisory a prize." Ms.Lekel finishes. The rest of the class cheers and they all immediately start thinking of ideas. Ugh. This is ridiculous! I groan, and stare at the wall. I sure hope my friends are having a better time than I am. Ms.Lekel claps her hands again, and the class falls silent.
