So I had a dream the other night, Im not sure where it came from it was completly random, but I was marrying some guy named Jack and all the guys had these really big guns because they were all in the milita- ya know what I dont even know. So heres my rendition of this dream outsiders style.
When my parents found out I was marrying someone that wasnt a soc they were pretty upset, but they were even more upset becuase I was only 19 and he was only 22. That was too young for them I guess, but there was a reason that we chose to get married so early. The Vietnam war was raging on the other side of the world and Two was, unfortunatly, a part of it. When he had heard that Soda was being drafted, he went straight down to the admissions office and signed up himself. He figured it was the least he could do, for the country, and for the Curtis family. Before he had left for basic trainning he purposed to me. It was nothing big. We were all at the Curtis's one night. . .
3 months earlier. . .
Two and I were sitting in the living room on the ground in front of the couch. We were trying to watch T.V, but niether of us were paying attention, we were too caught up in the fact that Two was going to leave for 10 weeks and then leave again for even longer. Our relationship was young, only about 6 months, but I had never felt this way about anyone else. Two and I had met each other at school, I never would have talked to him or even associated myself with him, but we had a moment. A really amazing moment. I was walking down the hallway with my friends, or should I say my soc friends. A group of rowdy boys came running down the hallway laughing. As they ran by I felt my skirt fly up by my eyes, someone yelled "Dress up day!" Then there was more laghter and yelling, then running. Long story short, I end up tackling this kid in the hallway, he complements me, we go on a date and the rest is history.
Anyways, we are sitting in the livingroom with everyone else in the kitchen, when Two looks at me and pulls out the smallest little gold ring Ive ever seen.
"So, I was wondering, it ain't much, but do you wanna marry me or somethin'? I think it would be real swell if you were my wife." The gang ran out into the livingroom to the sound of me screaing yes over and over.
I told my parents when I got home, they were pretty upset so I ended up having a screaming match with them then staying at the Curtis houshold until Two and Soda had to leave. The day Two boarded the bus I handed him the first picture we had ever taken together with a note on the back saying I would be waiting for him to come home. Finally Two and Soda would be home I would be married, but of course what is a wedding without a little bit of diaster to go along with it.
Two Bit's POV
It had been almost three months since my girl and I decided we would get married when I came home. In basic trainning I had met a lot of new people. most of them would be lifelong pals of mine, but sadly I would eventually lose some of them in battle. One of them was Nedder, Johnathan Nedder, he was in the bed right next to mine. He was definitly a changed man. You would never belive it but he was quite an ackward mess. He was the fitessed guy I had ever seen, gigantic arm muscles and a sharp face, but he had never had a real girlfriend, he just didnt know how to talk to other people. So I had to teach him the ropes. I gave hime asmany tips as I could to take home with him. We were all packing up our gear. Nedders was standing in his camo pants and a white wife beater tank top, what we were all wearing at the time, and smoking a cigarette while he stuffed things into a bag.
"Two what are your plans when you get home?"
"The next time we see each other Nedders, I will be a married man. And you better be a man that's got a girl, ya got it?"
"Uh, g-got it" Whenever Nedders got nervous he stuttered, which was part of the reason he had a hard time getting a girl, he could never get the words out.
"Remember what I told ya. Just calm down and start with a joke, girls love jokes." He smiled and nodded in response.
"Bus for Tulsa, tme to leave boys!" our drill sergant came in and announced that the bus for Tulsa Oklahoma had arrived.
"That's me Nedders." I started to walk off then stopped and handed him a piece of paper. "See ya soon?" Nedders responded again, with a nod.
