Two: life is life

Amy, that's what Derek used to call her. So accompanied and so lonely at the same time... Poor "Amy"... she wants to be the author of her own life, but somehow she always lets others write that story. She has a pending narrative, which is the story of her life. Poor Amy, she doesn't have a shoulder to cry on, or at least that's what she thinks. Poor Amy, she is so similar to me... Aren't we all an "Amy" at some point of our lives?...
-Hey Amy, you know you can count on me right?
-Amy... that's what Derek used to call me... I know. I got you, but home is a ghost town, no longer home, all its comfort has vanished, gone. Everything has been shaken up, undone.

-Amelia, you are clearly not okay. So try to think about something else. You are weak, but you can be stronger than ever right now, you need to be stronger than ever, and unfortunately, we don't get to choose that. When life hits you, you get up and hit life. Look, when Derek died, I felt empty, I couldn't think clearly. I couldn't move. I was gone. But then I came back, it was me, Meredith again. What some people don't know is that you are never yourself again completely. You come back from war, but there is a scar that proves it. You aren't "Mer" anymore, you are "Mer with a scar", and later you become "Mer with two scars", and so it goes on. Same for you, you aren't Amelia anymore, now you are "Amelia with a couple too many scars".
-How do you get used to it Mer?
-You don't. You need to go on, for the kids, for the sisters, for the friends, for everyone else in this damn planet. But the truth is, you never forget. Do you think it was easy for me to carry for nine months a baby whose father was deceased? It wasn't. But you don't have instructions for life, nobody tells you how to react to the different circumstances. Life is life..
