"It's like you know me so well." - Jordyn Jones

The Kendrick's took Luke back to my place and Chris took me and Jesse back with Paula's old car.

"I never realized Luke had a part of himself that wasn't an asshole" Jesse confessed.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean, trying to end his own life made me realize that even I would have a teardrop in my eye if he were to actually be dead right now."

"Jesse, please don't make jokes about this right now, or ever."

"I'm not. I'm being serious. What I'm really trying to say is, I'd rather be having an argument with him everyday than to regret that I never gave him a chance. Which is what I'm gonna let you and him do, make your own choices, even if none of those choices include me."

"Jesse, you will always be my friend no matter what. But this doesn't mean me and Luke are back together. Me and him are going to have a long talk tonight."

It was kind of embarrasing to talk about this with my ex. I had thought about bringing it up earlier but I didn't dare myself to. But Jesse deserved to know how I truly felt about Luke.

"I guess I never knew what love was until I met Violetta. She literally makes me weak."

"Yeah, apparently that's how love is supposed to make you feel," Chris sighed.

"Is that how you feel around Luke?" Jesse asked.

"Yeah, but─"

"She's strong around him," Chris interrupted.

"I try to be. I hate showing him my weakness."

"I think you should," Chris contended.

"Why?"

"It'd just make him fall for you even more." He sent me a wink.

"You think?"

"Yeah. I mean, Jordyn told me I make her feel weak when I'm around her."

"Jordyn told you that?!" I shrieked.

"Yeah, we've been dating secretly for a few months actually," he confirmed hesitantly.

"Oh, my gosh! And you only decide to tell me now?!"

"I'm sorry. She didn't want everyone to know right away." He chuckled nervously.

"Wow."

"Yeah, her ex finally headed for college so she thought now would be the best time to go out in public."

"Oh, right. That Jackson kid."

"Yeah." He parked the car in the driveway beside the Kendrick's van and we climbed out.

"I need to tell you something," Luke said later that day when we were finally alone.

"What?"

"I actually need to ask you something," he corrected his words.

"Okay, what is it?"

"When you said you never wanted to see me again, what did you mean?"

I sighed. I knew this was going to come up at some point. It hurt too much to talk about this, but I wanted answers just as much as he did.

"I needed to say something to make you leave me alone completely. But I knew sooner or later I would go back to you. It's just at that moment, I wanted to think before I made the same mistake twice."
