Warning: Mentions of death

Your eyes fluttered closed as you basked in the memories. The summers that you both shared and the winter nights you spent together.

It had been four years since Seokjin died and it still ached and put a damper on your mood when you thought of it.

Your hand automatically reached for the ring on a chain around your neck as you watched your son toddle around the living room.

It hurt knowing that the vague memories the child possessed of Seokjin would soon fade over time, and soon he wouldn't remember who his dad was.

The first few months of Seokjin's death was difficult for the both of you. Your son was always a daddy's boy, which meant that he never slept for you, but always slept for him.

So for the young boy, it was full of sleepless nights because his father wasn't around.

For you, you couldn't cope with the thought that Seokjin wouldn't be walking back through that door. You couldn't cope with the guilt that it was your fault.

If you hadn't sent him the shop, he would still be alive.

You felt the tears roll down your cheeks and you closed your eyes. The guilt had been eating away at you for the past four years.

You felt two soft hands caress your cheek. "Don't cry Momma." He mumbled softly, and you cracked your eyes open and saw your son, perched on your knees as he wiped your tears away. "Why are you crying? It's a lovely summers day!"

You smiled weakly at his optimism. "Should we go out and enjoy the day then?"

He nodded excitedly and ran off to get changed into clothes and you watched after him.

You looked outside, you and Seokjin always would venture to Han River in days like this and have a picnic-

You laughed weakly. Every year you had visited the river, almost as if Seokjin was still with you.

You stood up and got ready before heading out with your son clutching onto your hand gently.

You reached the side of the river where you and Seokjin always stood. You lifted your son onto your side and smiled as his eyes widened as he looked about.

Being here with him, made you feel like Seokjin was alongside the both of you which made you a family once more.

"Momma, Daddy is in a happy place isn't he?" He asked quietly, resting his head on your shoulder.

"Of course. He's somewhere where it's summer all the time and there's no bad things." You smiled softly. "And he'll always be watching over us both."

"Daddy's here." He spoke quietly, looking to your left. Your eyes followed but saw nothing. "He won't leave the either of us, he says he wants to be with us. But we'll see him later, and we can all spend the summer days together."

You felt the tears well up in your eyes as you hugged your son gently.

He hugged back softly, and you swear for a moment you felt the warm arms of Seokjin wrap around you too.
