A request from Zexalgirl52 - I hope you enjoy.

You stood in front of the boys that you were essentially forced to know, taking a shaky breath before your four best friends who stood cockily on the other side of the room gave you a thumbs up. A woman known as Jfla on Youtube had helped compose the cover you were about to sing for them all.

In the many years of living in the boys dorms, they had never once caught you singing properly. You didn't want to sing in front of them, you let your emotions fly when you sang and sometimes you couldn't stop the emotions from pouring out. When they had tagged along to practice with you today, you had immediately tried to shoo them out of the practice room, just for Namjoon to give you some puppy dog eyes and use his 'elder brother' authority over you and you couldn't help but let them stay.

The boys stood around patiently before you pressed play on the backing track and began singing. The boys stood there in awe as you sang, the girls at the back of the room smirking with accomplishment.

Yoongi noticed halfway through the first chorus that your voice began to crack, and your eyes progressively became more and more shiny with tears. Regardless, your voice remained powerful when it wasn't cracking. Once the song was through you sniffled softly before you left the room, pushing past the boys and then the girls and out into the hallway. You looked around and quickly left to go to the toilet next to the room and you sat there on the toilet seat lid with the door locked as the tears freely ran down your face.

This was why you didn't want to sing in front of them, this is why you didn't want to sing in front of your brother out of all the people that were in that room. At the age of sixteen he had left home, leaving you behind at the age of 15. Two years later you had left home and followed in his footsteps, auditioning as much as you can.

Once Namjoon had become a trainee, there was minimal contact between the two of you and the rest of the family. Your elder brother that doubled as your best friend, had left you in the dirt to go live his dream, and you were happy for him. But you didn't get a single text, phone call or even letter off of him in the first year he was gone - your parents did, but not you. After that, it went downhill, your best friend of many years from school had moved country with her parents and she lost contact with you, and you had suddenly felt so alone.

It took a year to build yourself back up to where you were before Namjoon left, the happy and perky self, and you decided that you would follow in his footsteps. You auditioned in Seoul for many companies, getting accepted into most. But you didn't know where to join, not until you had met the four other girls that formed your group once whilst you were at a restaurant eating.

"You're the girl with the really powerful voice, aren't you?" The shortest one had asked, causing you to nod whilst you sat there with the noodles in your mouth. You had hurried and swallowed.

"Yes?..." You were weary, were these four girls scouts?

"We're trainees, and we've been put together as a group. But we want you to join us, I'm pretty sure if we asked they'd say yes. What do you think?" They had all gathered around your table and ordered more food and began to eat.

If you hadn't had socialised with them that day, you could've been back at home, or in a wildly different company to BigHit now. You wiped your tears, being brought out of the memory by a light knock on the door.

"Y/N. Are you okay?" The male voice stunned you a bit, it wasn't one of the girls like you had thought it to be and after living with the seven since you had joined at the age of seventeen, you had clearly recognised it within a second.

"Y-Yoongi, what are you doing here?" You croaked out.

"We're friends aren't we?" He lent against the outside of the room. "You acted so happy whilst you were around us, it was strange to see you cry. But I'm here for you. You don't have to tell me what's wrong. But I'm not leaving until you come out of there."

You smiled softly, out of all the boys he was the one you had gotten along with well. You had spent many sleepless nights curled up on the sofa in Yoongi's studio since he worked through the night sometimes. You loved the boys, despite being forced to live with them for many years via Namjoon's request to the company.

It took you a further five minutes to compose yourself and come out the toilet, the moment you had opened the door you were met with Yoongi's embrace. You froze slightly in shock before your arms wrapped around him.

"Whatever made you upset, it's fine." He whispered.

"It just..." You took a shaky breath. "I just relate to it a bit too much."

Yoongi nodded and rubbed your back gently. "I understand, we all do. We all have songs that we relate to more than others." You nodded into the hug and he smiled softly. "Whatever makes you relate to it? I'll be there for you."

"Thank you Yoongi." You whispered. He pulled away from the hug, his cheeks lightly blushed. "One day I'll tell you. I promise."

"And until then, I'll make sure you have no more bad experiences to further your upset." He smiled. "Should we go grab some ramen?"

You nodded with a small smile. "That sounds nice."

The girls stood in the doorway of the practice room, watching this unfold with bright smiles on their faces. "This is going to turn into something beautiful." They squealed quietly to each other and they quickly entered the room before they were spotted.
