Laura slid out the back door whilst her parents argued again which would likely result in her being hurt physically and mentally once more. At the age of nineteen, somebody shouldn't have to run away from their own home. But her parents refused to let her move out and threatened to come find her and drag her back to the house if she ever tried it.
Her backpack contained a few pairs of clothes, her phone charger and her spare change she had. Not much at all.
"Please don't let me see him." She muttered quietly as she power-walked absentmindedly, hoping that her feet would take her as far away as she could get. Him was Jungkook, her bully through-out highschool. The boy that always seemed to be right there whenever she went out.
Laura couldn't be dealing with his shit, not today at least.
She finally came to a rest at a small wooden cabin in the woods not too far away, but far away enough that her parents wouldn't search here first.
Despite wishing she wouldn't see Jungkook on her walk here, she wished she did. When he 'bullied' her, it wasn't the typical beating somebody up or name calling. He'd always just be there at the wrong time, get dragged into the wrong stuff, and be dragged into the relentless teasing. There was one or two occasions when he was there when she was hiding from somebody in school and he'd show a small amount of compassion before he perked up hearing footsteps before leaving.
Jungkook, unknowingly, had fell into love with Laura. He loved the way her eyes sparkled as if they were endless pits of warmth. He loved her brown orbs that seemed to have a golden hue in them as the setting sun in winter during the evening classes glowed with warmth and kindness, with compassion and something so human about them. Something Jungkook had lacked for countless centuries now. Something human about himself.
He threw his head back in anger as he sat in his apartment. "God dammit Laura." He closed his eyes, feeling his pearly white fangs start to press into his rosy lips. Every time in school, he acted like he didn't stay around her because of the reputation he would get. But that just wasn't the case, and he wished he didn't have to see the hurt in her eyes when he would walk away as verbal abuse was hurled at her. She just smelt... perfect.
He opened his eyes which glowed red in his room and he took deep breaths, the smell of her blood filling his nostrils. But it was nothing but a phantom smell, something that he thought he could smell but he couldn't. It drove him crazy on nights like this, where he was alone, where he could hear the heartbeats of anybody within a one hundred meter radius from his room, where the simple sound of a breath annoyed him.
He desperately didn't want to harm her, or drink from her. So when he heard her leave her house earlier, he forced himself to stay in. He busied himself on his computer playing overwatch.
"Fuck it." He muttered softly, getting out of bed and leaving his apartment.
Three days she hadn't been at her own house, and now he was starting to worry. He perched in a tree in the neighbouring garden, which happened to be the garden of Namjoon his 'father' in one sense.
"Are you still waiting for that girl Kook?" He stood at the bottom of the tree, looking up at the younger vampire. "She's human for crying out loud, what do you find so interesting about her?"
That's when the howling wind came in, and Jungkook hadn't moved so fast in his life. "Found her." He muttered, dropping out the tree. "I'll see you around." He bowed his head at Namjoon before sprinting.
It was midnight when he got to her, he had silently snuck in through a window that she had left open and was now stood in the bedroom. Her frame curled up on the bed, eyes closed peacefully.
He felt his fangs elongate.
I'm so sorry Laura. He thought to himself.
He walked towards her, his eyes turning red and his fangs now visible as they poked between his lips. She rolled over in her sleep and he hovered above her, his eyes focused on her neck. His eyes focused and his attention elsewhere that he didn't realise she had woken up until he heard her heart rate increase incredibly until a scream pierced the air, making him snap out of his daze and his hand rushed to cover her mouth. His ears ringing.
"Calm down-" He hissed quietly. He removed his hand once her heart rate had dropped slightly and she was frozen in her spot.
"Jungkook?! What the fu-" She got cut off by him leaning down again, this time his eyes landed elsewhere before fluttering shut, his lips against hers.
Once they had pulled away for air, his lips drifted down to their original target. The feeling as light as rose petals, just like their appearance. His fangs slipped through and pierced the delicate skin there and a soft gasp of pain mixed with pleasure left her.
Once he had finished, they were both shirtless and wrapped up in the thin sheet that was on the bed that clearly wasn't her own as he could smell the previous owners scent on it. He looked down at the girl curled up on his chest, sleeping peacefully as the two puncture wounds closed up on her neck slowly. He lent his head back onto the pillow, eyes closing in satisfaction as his arm wrapped around her gently. Watching as she stirred slightly and a small smile landed on her face.
He gently traced the scars and fading bruises on the skin that peered out from underneath the blanket with a soft smile.
"I won't let them hurt you anymore." He whispered softly. "Not whilst we're both alive."
