You tied your hair up on the top of your head tightly, pulling on the trainers and the white doctors jacket. You had barely slept, as a trainee doctor you knew sleep was a treasure to have, and with the surgery you had assisted in the night prior, you had a lot to take note on.
"Y/N! Emergency in the waiting room!" A trainee that was below you panted as he burst into the room. You perked up at this as you finished closing your locker.
"That can't be too important if a trainee can take it-"
"All the other doctors are in surgery or unavailable right now." That sparked a bit of panic in you.
"Lead the way." You and the trainee took off sprinting down the hallways until you got to the waiting room.
"Don't touch me!" The male yelled, wincing as one of his friends held him up. "I want a doctor not a nurse!" He went to aggressively push the small nurse away and I caught his hand quickly.
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't mishandle the staff like that." I spoke lowly.
"I said a doctor!" He emphasised.
"Can you not read?" You let out a light laugh. "I am a doctor. What seems to be the problem?"
"It's his ankle, we have or comeback in a week-" with that cameras flooded through the entrance.
"Get them out, I'll get him to my room." You grabbed a wheelchair and pulled it over to him. He sat down, his head down and you started pushing him
When you got to your assessment room you sat behind your desk, his friend walking in not too long after you both had arrived.
"So what seems to be the problem?"
"I was dancing for the comeback, and I got a shooting pain up my leg and my ankle gave out. It hurts to put weight on it." He mumbled quietly.
"May I come around and look?" You gestured and he nodded. His friend pulled the wheelchair back so there was room for you to come around. You crouched and slipped off his shoe, watching as he winced. You rolled down his sock gently to see the ankle bruised and swollen.
"This dance or rather dances you've been doing... Lot's of footwork yes?" You kept your voice quiet, gently moving his ankle and watching the pain on his face. He nodded. "You've more than likely just bruised your ankle or at most sprained it."
"Why is she treating us like normal people Hyung?" His friend spoke.
"It's my job to keep professional." You replied back. "That and quite frankly I'm not too sure I know who you two are." You admitted.
"Can I go back to dancing?" The male asked. You shook your head.
"Not at the moment, I'm going to go book an X-Ray room now, however it mightn't be ready for another hour or two, we're really busy today. However you're both more than welcome to stay in my office." You offered.
"I wish I could, but I have to get back to work." His friend spoke. "I'll come pick you up once you're done Hyung." He bowed before walking out.
You went back to your desk, and started typing and booking in the X-Ray room.
"I'm sorry for being so aggressive earlier." He spoke quietly. "I'm not usually, I'm just really stressed with the comeback being so soon."
"It's fine, we deal with worse patients all the time."
"I'm Jung Hoseok." He smiled.
"I'm Y/N." You smiled in return and he chuckled softly.
"Dr. Y/N. I like it."
--
You walked back into your office a little while later after you had done your rounds and found Hoseok reading something on his phone. You smiled.
"The X-Ray room is ready." You smiled and pushed him down the hallway to the room.
After the X-Ray he gave you a fearful look.
"Don't worry, nothing is broken. Just bruised with slight spraining. You should be okay within the next week. But I'll give you crutches just in case."
He nodded smiling.
"Here's my number in case you ever need another doctor." You handed your written number over to him on a slip of paper. He smiled.
"I'll keep you in mind!"
--
Your long day of work ended, you tossed your keys onto your desk and flopped back in bed.
'Hey, when are you next free? Once my ankle is all better, want to go on a date? ~Hoseok.'
