A one shot for the lovely DawnMorningGlory - keep your eyes peeled for part 2 and I hope you enjoy it!

You were driving home from a long shift at work, a lot of people had called in sick after the work party last night so you ended up working the shift as 'overtime' with more pay so you weren't complaining. You didn't really need the extra money with your fiancé's job, but every little bit helped. Plus, you'd rather spend your own money than his money.

You yawned softly, turning the radio up to keep yourself a bit more alert. You were capable of driving home in the state you were in now, you weren't overtired, but tired enough for you to yawn. You'd driven like this plenty of times before, always doing late shifts so today was no different. You kept driving along the road, humming gently to the song on the radio when headlights swerved onto your side of the road and your hands quickly turned the steering wheel to avoid the car but hit the metal railing that ran on the side of the road.

You felt the wind being knocked out of you as you collided with the airbag, the car crunching and instant pain filled your body.

You heard another crunch of another car nearby as you cried out in pain, hands shakily reaching for your phone in the middle of the seats and you managed to hit his name just before you passed out.

Yoongi had never driven so fast before, he left his meal to go cold on the dining table and sprinted. Not even caring that he left the house without a mask to cover the small amount of stubble that graced his face, not even caring that he was essentially in his PJ's. Once he heard silence on the phone when you had called him, and with sirens becoming louder, he'd got on the move. His heart in his mouth and his entire body running on adrenaline.

He had made it to the hospital before they had even called him. He was stood at reception when he had gotten the call, and he hung up and looked at the older lady behind the desk. "I'm already here. Where is she?" He spoke in a rush, tears brimming his eyes.

"Who?"

"Y/N." He was almost begging.

"She's just went into surgery now. If you could wait in one of the seats in the waiting area?" She asked politely.

"Do you have somewhere a bit more private for me to sit?" He hated using his fame, but last thing he wanted was for any of his more... stalker-ish fans to see him. The old lady hesitated before nodding and standing up. "You can go to an unused office. I'll lead you there." She smiled kindly, offering some sort of emotional support. He nodded and followed the woman to an office just around the corner from the desk.

He was sat in the rectangular room by himself for what felt like forever. He had texted the boys telling them he wouldn't be at practice tomorrow, or probably the day after and now his phone was getting flooded with replies asking why, and soon those texts became phone calls and he just couldn't bring himself to speak to anyone right now. So the moment the call stopped ringing, he turned his phone off and sat there with his head tilted up so we was looking at the ceiling.

"I should've been kinder to her..." he whispered softly. "I should've treated her how the boys treated her." He had fallen in love with her basically from the moment they had met, but he still had his days where he didn't want to talk to anybody, where he sat in his studio for hours on end and came home late. He never thought she cared, she seemed happy enough, but boy was he regretting not spending every waking moment with her.

"Min Yoongi?" A nurse entered the room after a light knock. Yoongi's head turned to her at an alarming speed. "She's out of surgery now. She's still in critical condition but she's stable. We placed her on a ward by herself so you wouldn't get harassed."

Yoongi nodded, some sort of relief flooded his body. She wasn't out of the woods yet, but she was stable.

"Follow me." The nurse spoke and Yoongi couldn't form any words so he just nodded. An elevator ride and three corridors later, the nurse opened the door to the room. Yoongi nearly lost it there and then seeing her pale skin covered in bruises and scratches, bandages, casts and wires. He approached her quietly and sat down on the chair next to her.

If it weren't for the heart monitor, he wouldn't believe it if you had told him she was alive. He reached for her hand and winced at how cold it felt compared to how warm it would feel usually.

He could remember it now, when he'd come home with aching muscles after dance practice and you'd gently massage your favourite lotion into his shoulders and legs. When you'd grab his hand whilst walking... his heart fluttered until he was brought back by the coldness.

He sighed softly and looked at the fragile state you were in.

"Sir?" Someone walked into the room and Yoongi turned to look. A doctor stood there, a sad smile on her face. "I'd just like to brief you on what we know happened and the extent of her injuries."

Yoongi nodded.

"From the police and a witness that were at the scene apparently a drunk driver had swerved towards her, and to get out of his way, she had swerved and hit the metal barriers on the side of the road." She spoke soothingly, as if that would ease the anger and the hurt in him. "If she hadn't have swerved, Miss Y/N wouldn't have survived. Thankfully she's came out of it with a broken leg, a broken ankle, a broken rib and a fractured wrist. We've set and pinned the leg, and wrapped her up the best we could." She spoke softly.

Yoongi didn't notice the tears rolling down his face until they landed on his legs.

"She hit her head pretty hard, which is the reason we're monitoring her so closely and saying she's in critical condition. Her bones should heal fine, we just don't know the extent of the damage that was done to her head. She should be waking up soon. Once she does please call for a nurse." The doctor bowed as she left the room and Yoongi was left with the sounds of his almost silent cry, and the heart monitor reminding him she was still alive.

Yoongi rested his head beside her hand after gently kissing it. "Please wake up soon..." he whispered, dozing into a restless sleep.
