This is a really late update from what should've been posted on Tuesday. I'm working on the requests & they'll be up soon. Keep your eyes peeled!
Taehyung had been curled up on his owners bed for the last couple of days straight. She got rushed into hospital on Tuesday night after falling really ill, and then died Wednesday morning.
Ever since he heard this news, he had went home and laid on her bed, eyes tightly shut as he let her scent encase him. He wished he could remember this scent for the rest of his life and more. But eventually it would fade and eventually-
He heard footsteps, but took no notice. It would be the landlady, coming to check up on him as per usual.
"Are you sure you don't want to come with me Taehyung?" Her voice was soft and gentle, which reminded him of her. The girl that took him in when her father abused him. The girl that gave him her unconditional love-
"I'm sure." He mumbled, clutching the blanket between his large hand and inhaling deeply as he felt the onslaught of tears start again. "Thank you anyway."
The next day he didn't see the old lady, and the day after he heard footsteps enter the flat that most definitely wasn't the shuffle of the landlady's feet.
--
He was roomed with a hybrid called Seokjin after that day. He was right in detecting that the footsteps weren't his landlady's. But he wasn't expecting the men from the pound to see him in his depressive state.
Seokjin was a lovely hybrid, always made sure that Taehyung ate before him. Made sure that Taehyung was warm during the cold nights-
One night, despite being tucked in and being warm, he just couldn't sleep. Not at all. He missed the arms of his old owner wrapped around him when he felt lonely or woke up with nightmares from his days where her father beat him, used him to get money-
He heard of the escape plan, his ears perking up as he listened in to Seokjin's conversation. Guarenteed, he didn't intend to listen in... It just... happened.
His heart sank.
They were going to escape together and leave him behind. He wouldn't blame him, not after how mopey he had been, not after he proved himself to be worthless to them-
He closed his eyes with a soft sigh, hugging the blankets tighter around himself before drifting off into a restless sleep.
He was taken by surprise when the escape plan occurred and Seokjin gently took his wrist and pulled him along with them. They were on the run for a while until they stumbled across a house that Seokjin seemed determined to leave Taehyung at.
The door opened and his eyes landed on the house-owner. He was determined that if she took him in, he would make sure to love, care and protect her as much as he could. Convinced that if he did so, she wouldn't die at all.
