Taehyung saw you over at the other side of the restaurant, hands linked with another man as you sat there, smiling and laughing. Being on tour all the time had ran the relationship between the two of you to the ground, from the stress on his end to the loneliness on both your end of the relationship.
He had gotten back and that's when you had told him you weren't happy anymore with him, and after that you had left, coming back every so often to pick up your belongings from your home with him, until one day you stopped coming.
Taehyung still went about his business as normal, felling numb, feeling empty without you around. The boys noticed, and so did the staff, so the boys tried their hardest to make him happy again without you being there, and he put on such a strong facade whilst he was around fans or anywhere someone else might see him.
God, Taehyung loved you and you had split it off months ago. He would continue to love you until he died, he was sure of that, but unfortunately it appeared that you didn't feel the same way. He could tell that now. You were smiling at the man like you used to smile at him. Your hair was styled, makeup done, dressed how you would dress if you ever went on a date with him. You both knew it was going to be hard dating one another. He was an idol who had a great demand from all over the world at this point, but you still fell for him anyway, you still fell for the man that couldn't make you angry, upset... You still fell for the man that made you the happiest you had ever been in your entire life.
But the tension from him being away for nearly the entire year hurt, and suddenly you couldn't take it anymore.
Taehyung couldn't help but glance over you constantly as you sat there, opposite the table from your date, laughing, smiling and seeming genuinely happy. He sighed softly.
"Taehyung, you've got to get over her... It's been months." Jungkook rested a hand on Taehyung's shoulder. Taehyung shook his head.
"That should be me with her." Taehyung whispered gently. "That should be me holding her hand, that should be me making her happy, that should be me."
"Don't get so worked up over it..." Jungkook replied softly, patting him on the back before continuing to eat his food, the rest of the boys looking at Taehyung who couldn't stop looking at you.
Your eyes traveled to the feeling of eyes on you, and Taehyung swore a brief of expression of shock covered your face and your smile faulted briefly. Taehyung's eyes widened briefly at the face you had seen him staring. You broke eye contact first, looking towards the door and then your eyes landing on him.
"Excuse me." Taehyung muttered before getting up and heading to the door and leaving the restaurant having gotten your message.
A few moments later you had joined him.
"What are you doing back here?" Taehyung's heart shattered at the sound of your voice.
"I'm on an extended break, Jungkook hasn't been well recently." He whispered.
"Ah. Right."
"I didn't mean to be staring. I'm sorry."
"N-No it's fine." You looked down at your hands.
"Does he treat you well?"
"Yeah... This is our third date." You paused. "Have you found anyone else?"
"No... Not yet. I'm not looking." He studied your features. "Remember that I'm always gonna be here for you, okay?"
"I know... Thank you Tae..."
"I hope he continues to treat you good. I'll see you around."
"I'll see you around Taehyung." Your arms wrapped around you as you walked back inside.
"I love you..." Taehyung whispered into nothing, thinking you hadn't heard him.
"I love you too Taehyung..." You whispered, swallowing the lump in your throat.
