I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and I again felt a heavy weight on my chest and look down to see Shawn resting on me much like the morning before. I wonder how he does it without waking me up and noticing? I sigh and take the opportunity to brush my fingers through his hair.

I amused myself with that for maybe 5 minutes until I decided it was time to get up. I slipped one hand under Shawn's head onto his cheek, carefully and tried to lift it off my chest. But Shawn just groaned and wrapped his arm around my waist holding on firmly.

"Don't..." He mumbled. I just giggled.
"But I need to-"
"Stay... please." He cut me off mumbling again and I felt something wet on my hand that was on his cheek. I furrowed my brows and adjusted myself a bit so I could see his face. I looked at him and his eyes were still closed but it looked like tears were running down his eyes.

"Shawn?" I questioned, not really knowing now if he was awake or not.
"Ce... love... please..." His brows furrowed.
"Shawn, I'm here," I said in a hushed tone and started petting his head. I smiled a bit knowing he was dreaming about me.
"I... love... you..." He mumbled again. I felt my heartbeat increasing and I swallowed hard. I've heard Shawn say he loved me before but that was before when he was a complete asshole to me. I thought he was saying it though just to play with my feelings. I already know he likes me more than a friend, he's told me that much but love? Can he really love me?

As I was lost in thought Shawn immediately jolted awake and sat up right away. I gasped at his suddenness and looked at him surprised. Shawn's breathing was uneven as he looked around. He then looked at me and seemed to relax a bit.

"Fuck." He sighed dropping himself back on my chest.
"Are you ok?" I asked.
"Yeah just... a crazy dream." He said wrapping his arm around my waist again and holding me kind of tight.
"I can tell," I said as I resumed petting his head.
"Ce, can I ask you something?" He turned his head so he was facing me.
"Of course," I say looking down at him.
"Are you... are you ok with how I handled the situation with Lucas?" He asks. I stay quiet for a moment thinking about it. Shawn did save me from the worse possible relationship I could have ever been in but I'm not too happy about the thought of him almost killing Lucas right in front of me. Lucas wasn't really good to me but he didn't deserve to be beaten almost to death.

"That's a hard thing to answer. I am grateful for you being there because it honestly feels like you saved me as if you were my knight and shining armor," I started as I placed my hand on his cheek. He just smiled, "but I don't really know how to feel about how violent everything was." I answered.

"I'm sorry, but at that moment I felt like every bad thing he's done to... us really... I just felt like he didn't deserve to... I didn't want him to hurt you anymore." Shawn stumbled to find the words. He seemed flustered.
"I know..." I tried comforting him.

As we laid there in silence for a few more minutes we heard a knock on the door. I quickly tapped on Shawn's arm trying to get him to move but instead was met with light snoring. When there was no answer the door slowly started to open. Feeling like a teenager about to be caught I quickly rolled to the side out of Shawn's grasp but ended up rolling off the bed and falling to the floor on my side.

I must have woke Shawn because he popped his head over the bed and looked at me surprised. I looked over at the door to see dad standing there with his brow raised questionably.

"Your mother says breakfast is ready." Was all he said before walking back out. I put my hands over my face feeling embarrassed.
"You ok?" Shawn asks.
"Yeah..."
"Good because that was hilarious." He chuckles. I glare at him before noticing something.
"Wait... were you awake...?" I noticed he didn't sound or look like he just woke up.
"Let's go get breakfast!" He chimed before jumping off the bed.
"Shawn!" I bark at him while I start to get up. As I do Shawn just laughs and quickly walks out of the room.

Shawn and I sat next to each other at the table again eating our french toast and eggs that my mom prepared for us. I glanced over at Shawn every once in a while to see what he was doing. It seemed like every time I was looking away he was staring right at me. Finally, with just my quick glance I caught him staring at me. He quickly went back to focusing on his food. I couldn't help but smile as I went back to my own food and continued eating.

After breakfast, Shawn and I decided to start packing but as soon as we stepped foot back into the room Shawn's phone dinged. He pulled it from his pocket and read the message.

"Oh! Hey, I'll be right back, I'm gonna stop by my house and say hi to my mom and sister while they're still there." He said looking up at me.
"Of course, take your time," I said smiling sweetly at him.
"10 minutes tops, I promise." He said as he started backing out of the room.
"Really take your time, enjoy their company I'll be fine here." I giggled. He just smiled and nodded before walking out the door.
