I was sleeping when I first heard it.
I was sleeping when I first felt it.
Him moving.
I noticed it too late though.
I was too late to hear all the machines beeping.
My eyes opened only for a second before they shut again. In that second everything was blurry.
This happened a few more times before I realized what it was.
Until I realized it was the beeping which woke me up.
I shot up and looked around.
The machines were going crazy.
I knew something was wrong.
And then I looked at the bed
I didn't see him there.
He was gone.
His wires and breathing mask were on the bed.
It was in that moment I knew he got up,
And he left
