Lauren's POV
A while after Dani and I talked I went downstairs. Mom and Dad had announced earlier that they'd be gone for a week or so for work reasons. Alex and Mike, my two older brothers, are in California and the younger boys are at summer camp for a few more weeks. So it was just us girls at home. It was around 7 pm and Christina was out with Nick, Lisa was getting groceries and Kath and Amy were in their room. At the end of the stairs downstairs and I see Dani sitting on the sofa.. Just as i was going to go sit and talk with her, she gets a call. I hang back behind the wall so she doesn't see me but decide to listen in on the conversation. I know, nosy but what else do sisters do!
"Hey Bec" Dani said, almost sadly. So she's talking to that dreaded Becca again.
"What, now?... I know but it's kinda late and-"Dani tried to argue.
"Ok, no...yeah I understand" she said "Yeah I'll be right there". Be right where? Before I could think further I heard a sigh and Dani getting up from the sofa. I quickly sprinted to the kitchen before she left the living room.
"Katherine, Amy I'm going out" Dani yelled up the stairs " I'll probably be home late, so don't wait up" with that she left the house, slamming the door.
Katherine's POV
"Wait!" I yelled to Dani, walking towards the top of the stairs, but by then the slam of the door had already sounded, "Ugh that child!". She never listens to me or Amy probably because she doesn't take us seriously. But she's more respectful to Lisa and Chris probably because she's scared of them. I hear Lauren speak to me.
"Hey Kath, I'm going to head out too" She said sweetly "Don't wait up either". She smiled and grabbed her keys and left. Now that kid is smart,she's an angel nothing bad should ever have to happen to her. She put a smile on my face and with that smile I walked back to my room.
Lauren's POV
I told Kath I was going out and that was true but i was following Dani. I pulled my car out the driveway and see Dani's car a little way up ahead. She heard Kath call for her but she ignored her and slammed the door. It's not right. It's time I did something.
