Christina's POV
I listen intently as Doctor Gardner goes over a whole load of formalities regarding Lauren's further treatment. She cleared her throat.
"So I've read over Lauren's previous hospital notes and I've read over the police report after you had talked to them." She paused, "Lauren's been through a lot. I'm aware she's an adult and can make her own decisions but she's going to need to talk to someone about what happened. We can arrange a counsellor for you if you'd like. When she's awake I wont be surprised if there's serious signs of PTSD. But we'll know a lot more about whats best for her once she's awake."
It was a lot to take in but we nodded our heads and joined the others in Laur's room. I stood next to Katherine in the corner.
"Everything okay?" she asks in a quiet voice. I give a tight nod of my head.
"Did you call mom and dad?" I questioned.
"All the flights are cancelled because of the snow over there, they won't ,make it back for another week at least." Katherine paused for a second, "Mom couldn't stop crying." I just nod my head and then squeeze my eyes shut as a tear slips down my face and we continue to wait in silence.
That is until Lauren started to stir awake. Everyone was suddenly more alert. Kyle hovered over her, his hand over hers.
"Hey," he whispered as her eyes adjusted to the brightness of the room. She groans a little. Then her eyes widen completely and she jolts up in the bed. She yanks her hand away from Kyle's and holds it close to her chest.
"Hey it's okay," Kyle said quickly, raising his hands, "You're okay, you're safe now."
"N-no, no" she spoke, voice hoarse and becoming increasingly louder, "I was in the basement! And it was dark and cold! And I couldn't stop him, I couldn't-
I moved to her side quickly and gently try to calm her down but she flinches away again.
"Get away from me! Get away!" she screams.
"Lauren!" I shout over her screams, "You're safe now, you're out of there." But she continues to flail her arms around and tears find their way down her face.
"No, no it's not real!" she yells, "I couldn't stop him he killed them! He killed them!"
Everyone looks confused. I made eye contact with Lauren.
"Them?" I questioned, "You mean Becca, right?"
"No, he killed both of them!" she sobs, "He killed Blake as well and just left her in the woods! And I didn't do anything Christina! I didn't do-"
Her speech becomes quieter as she falls limp into my arms, I place her gently back into the bed and look across to see doctor Gardner.
"It's just a mild sedative to put her back to sleep for a while," she says, "Maybe when she wakes up again only 1 or 2 of youse are in here, so she doesn't get overwhelmed again." She looks at me and then motions with her eyes to follow her to the door.
"I understand how difficult this must be for you all," she sympathises, "But after what happened just now, I strongly urge you to listen to the advice I gave earlier, she needs a therapist."
I swallow hard and then thank her for the advice.
"And I'll get the police to look into what Lauren was saying about the body in the woods. She could just be delirious from all the meds she's on but I doubt she'd have made anything like that up."
We exchange smiles and then she walks away. I re enter the hospital room to find only Kyle there. His head bowed on Lauren's arm until he lifted it to look at me. I gave him a questioning look.
"Oh everyone left and decided I should be in the room when she wakes up for the second time." he stated, "Also I was thinking, do you think we could get Lisa in here somehow? I feel like because they were down there together, even if only for a while, Lauren will calm down a little when she sees her."
"That's a great idea Ky," I smiled, "I'll talk to the doctor." With that, I left the room once again.

Kyle's POV
I called home to tell my dad everything and why I wasn't home when it's this late at night. He understood and informed me there was an improvement in my mom's health. They reckon she can hold on for a little while longer. Maybe a few months even. I was happy. But then my gaze travelled to Lauren in her hospital bed. The doctor had upped her pain meds dosage and gave her some more sedatives to prevent her from reacting so... wildly, like she did earlier.
It too a long time to convince Doctor Reece for Lisa to leave her hospital bed but eventually she was allowed. She sat on the opposite side of Lauren in her wheelchair, looking at Laur's face sorrowfully. Finally Lauren began to stir awake. She blinked a few times before she met my eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Am I dreaming?" She said quietly. I couldn't bring myself to speak, my heart was breaking. Lisa took charge. She slipped her hand in Lauren's. Lauren lazily turned her head towards Lisa and looked at her in shock.
"No baba, this is real." Lisa whispered, "We made it out of there. Christina, Nick, Isaac and Kyle got us out. You're in the hospital right now. You had to go in for surgery for your burns. But you're ok now, you got out of there."
"And you?" she said, eyes travelling down to Lisa's casted leg, "Are you okay?" Lisa smiled and ran a hand through Lauren's hair.
"Yeah of course, we're both okay now." A sad smile spread across Lauren's face.
"But they're not." she croaked, tears sliding down her face, "Blake and Becca are dead, Lise. I couldn't save them. I watched them die."
"It's not your fault okay?" Lisa comforted, "There's nothing you could have done." I could tell Lauren never believed her but she looked away and found my eyes instead. I gave her a sad smile.
"Hey babe," I whispered.
"Hi Kyle," she whispered back. Lisa took this as her cue to leave and she wheeled herself out of the room.
"So you decided to save me again huh?" she smiled. I chuckled.
"Well maybe if you didn't need saving all the time I wouldn't need to. I have a wife and 6 kids to look after aswell you know." I smirked. She laughed and then slapped my hand lightly.
"Shut up," she scolded. smiling. I caressed her face gently.
"I was so scared. I thought I was going to lose you." I whispered.
"I'm right here." she said.
"Good. And I'm never letting you go again. I love you Lauren."
There was a short silence. For a moment I didn't think she was going to say it back but I know I needed to. I had to tell her how I feel.
"I love you too," she smiled, as tears welled up in her eyes. I pressed my lips to her forehead and in that moment I knew she was going to make it through this.
"We're going to get through this Lauren," I said quietly, "Together."
"Really?" she asked, her voice shaking.
"Really," I replied, "just have hope."
