Chapter 41- Gone

Sofia's POV

Everyone in the room looked either pissed or shocked. Or a mixture of both.

"Are you sure that's him?" Katherine asked and Kyle, Lexi, Dani and I gave a firm nod.

"I don't understand," Lisa said frustrated, "He's hurt Laur already. Why did he want to kill her?"

"Maybe he was afraid of her telling. I mean Lauren was already beginning to open up and she told me she was thinking of telling the police." Amy suggested, rubbing Lisa's shoulder comfortingly.

"But how on earth would he have known? And how the hell did he get into your house?" I voiced my thoughts aloud. The room fell into an eerie silence. I took a look at everyone. Lisa, Isaac, Kyle and Dani looked the most pissed by far. If any of the others were angry, they were doing a pretty good job at concealing it.

"I'm gonna fucking kill him," Kyle muttered, his hands balled into fists. I quickly took his hand in mine and I felt him relax the slightest bit.

"Wait," Lexie says, "He tried to kill Lauren. When he finds out she's not dead, what if he-" Kyle quickly cut her off.

"No he wont get his filthy hands on her again." Everyone nodded firmly, agreeing to protect her.

"Okay, Amy, Dani and Lexie you guys come with me down to the police station so we can promote this as evidence to the police," Katherine ordered, grabbing her car keys.

"Yeah, and the rest of us should go to the hospital to check on Laur and tell Christina about all this," Isaac said, taking Lisa's hand in his.

"Okay I'll drive," Lisa said.

Lauren's POV

Christina had just left to use the bathroom, leaving me alone in my hospital room. The whole day had gone past rather quickly and it was already dark out despite it being only 8pm. Ryan had come in earlier and said that I would be able to leave tomorrow, which is great news.

I quickly grew tired and so I lied down, my tired eyes staring at the ceiling. My eyes began to flutter shut but just then I hear the door creak open. I sigh, frustrated.

"Chris," I groaned, annoyed, "I was just about to go to sleep." I was met with silence. I used my elbows and propped myself up in my bed.

"Chris?" I called out. As my eyes adjusted to the dim room, I made out a dark figure looming over me. Before I could scream, a cloth was quickly shoved over my mouth and nose. I struggled helplessly against the unknown attacker. But it was no good, the pain meds I was on minimised my strength, giving the assailant an advantage.

I was gradually losing consciousness. The chloroform on the cloth slowly devoured my remaining strength. My body stopped struggling as my eyelids became heavy and soon shut off from the world entirely. 

Christina's POV

As I exited the bathroom I found myself slamming into another body. I look up quickly finding it to be Isaac, with Lisa and Kyle shortly behind him. They seemed out of breath, almost as if they had ran.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked, puzzled.

"Where's Lauren?" Kyle asked, ignoring my question.

"She's in her room, I just left her to go to the bathroom." I said slowly. He ran a hand through his curls.

"Jesus. You left her alone!" he said, anger lacing his voice. Lisa put a hand on his forearm.

"Calm down. It's not Chris's fault, she doesn't know," Lisa reprimanded.

"Know what?" I asked but again I was ignored and they all rushed past me and towards Lauren's room.
