Kyle's POV

I lay next to mom for a little while longer. I knew it was going to be her time to go soon, even though we put all the money we had into her treatment. I slowly got up, being careful not to wake her. I walk over to my dad who was asleep in the armchair and I draped a blanket over him. I needed air.

I dialled Jason's number as I walked down the stairs. But he didn't pick up which was strange. I wonder if he got Lauren home okay yesterday. I can't stop thinking about her. She was so beautiful. And it boiled my blood for what Becca did to her.

I headed out the door and started walking down the street. It was warm today, the sun was out. Yesterday it rained and was cold, so I really do hope Jason was safe whilst driving Lauren home.

"Screw it," I whispered under my breath. I turned on my heels and headed back to my house. I got on my motorbike and secured my helmet before speeding towards Lauren's house. I already knew where she lived because I remember giving Dani a lift home once. I felt the need to check on Lauren. I cared about her, and it's been a long time since I felt like this about a girl. I didn't really pay attention to girls once my mom got sick . After that all focus was on her really. Only Sofia knows about my mom, the rest didn't really know, I hadn't even told Jason or Isaac. And Sofia only knows because she found out by accident. I don't really know why I don't tell anyone. I just like to keep to myself, I guess.

Dani's POV

I woke up on an unknown sofa and I looked around groggily.

"Hey look, sleeping beauty's awake." Sofia says sarcastically... wait Sofia? Then it all clicked, and I remember crying all over Lexie and then  falling asleep sometime through a movie we watched.

"Hey," Lexie says softly, walking over to me, "You OK?".

I smile at her and nod, before she turns away I grab her hand and look her in the eye, "Thank you." I say. She smiles and tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I get lost in her sparkling blue eyes. She really helped me calm down. Don't get me wrong, I still wanna murder Kyle but I'm a lot more in control of myself now.

Sofia clears her throat and stands there awkwardly. Lexie and I quickly move away from one another and Lexie stands there awkwardly as I rub the back of my neck, still sitting on the sofa.I checked my phone and my eyes widened, seeing the time. I jump up.

"Crap," I said under my breath.

"What's wrong?" Lexie asked.

"I just need to phone my sisters, excuse me." I replied, leaving the apartment for a moment.

After the first ring Christina picks up her phone.

"Dani where the hell are you? You said you'd be home before dark." she yelled. I held the phone away from my ear for a moment then brought it back.

"Yeah, I'm sorry, I lost track of time," I said nervously. She sighed.

"It's fine, when will you be back?" she asked. I was surprised at how calm she was, normally she'd order me back home and would be furious... something must have happened.

"I'll be home before 10 pm definitely." I said, we said our goodbyes and then I hung up. I turned around to go back into the apartment. We needed to go to Kyle's house so I could make him pay for what he did to my sister, and Sofia and Lexie knew where he lived. To think I trusted him, to think I thought he was my friend.

Sofia's POV

I got back a little while ago. I left earlier because I sensed Dani needed to talk to Lexie about something. I was surprised at first that Lexie was actually trying to be there for someone. She never lets anyone in, I don't even know what's going on in that girl's mind most of the time. When I got back I saw the two of them asleep on each other on the couch. Just then Lexie woke up.
