~Justin’s point of view~

-Walking back home-

Right now, I’m walking back home, with Darielle. But this time, she isn’t clinging onto me like she was back at school. She’s back to her old self—I think. She has been really quiet throughout the walk.

She had a composed face on but it’s like she was in deep thought. I wonder what’s on her mind and what was she thinking when she . . . kissed me. My palms were sweating at how nervous I was.

“D-Darielle? C-Can I ask y-you something?” I stuttered. She chuckled. “You just did.” She said making me flush of embarrassment. I rubbed the back of my neck. “Y-Yeah but t-that’s not the q-question.” I stammered.

“Then, what is?” She asked but still not looking at me. “U-Um, w-why-.” She cut me off. “Long story; short. Your mother will explain.” She said. I opened my mouth but nothing came out.

“Sweetie, are you OK?!!?” My mom gasped the moment she saw my bruised jaw. I hissed when she grabbed it roughly. “Sorry.” She mumbled. I sighed and pulled away from her grasp.

“I’m fine. Darielle took a hit from me and it looks worse than mine.” I explained as I moved to show her Darielle. She gasp and guilt flash in her eyes. “Oh, no. Come inside now!” My mom exclaimed as she pulled us both in.

“You guys want tea?” My mom asked nervously. Is she hiding something? “I’ll make the tea. You have business to tell.” Darielle said as she got up; leaving my mom & me alone.

“So, Darielle told me you have something important to tell me.” I said to her. Mom sighed in defeat. “Honey, what I’m about to tell you,” She inhales. “Might be something you’ll disagree straight away.” She bit her lip.

I raised my eyebrow; puzzled. “What’s going on, mom?” I drawled getting wary of this situation. She took a deep breath and looked at me with sorrow. “I have discussed this with Darielle. She just followed my demands.” She says. She huffed and looked at me in the eye.

“Justin . . . I have made the final decision that you will marry Darielle.”
