~Justin’s point of view~

My eyes watched as Darielle began to wash the dishes. The sunlight was shining through the window in front of her making her skin and hair glow. I watched in awe at how beautiful she was standing there. I sighed as I laid my head on my folded arms on the table. My mind was playing flashbacks of her helping me breaking out from my shell. I bit down on my lip as I felt bad that she’s been helping me out so much and I haven’t even given her proper thanks.

A sigh escaped from my lips as I tried to think of an idea. I looked around the house until my eyes landed on the colorful tulips in the vase on the counter. I got it! I got up from my chair and walked over to stand beside Darielle. “Can I help?” I asked politely as I picked up a bowl. She looks at me with a weird look. “Sure. Why all of a sudden?” I just shrugged and squeezed the dishwashing gel onto the sponge. “I don’t appreciate indolence. I am my mother’s son.” I chuckled making her smile.

She nodded and continued on washing the plates. It was silent between us until I breathed in and exhaled. “Darielle,” I spoke and she hummed in response. I stepped closer to her until our shoulders were touching. “Let’s go on a date.”

Her head turned to me as I studied her facial features, the face didn’t show much but her eyes definitely didn’t hide the shock. I really wanna do this. At least I would have a good memory of her before she goes. “It’s a last minute thing and I want to spend the rest of the day with you before you board that flight.” I explained with a hint of hope in my voice. She looked into my eyes before expressing a smile and nodded.

Darielle’s soapy hand grabbed my soapy hand and intertwined our fingers. “I would love to go.” When those words went out her mouth, I smiled so wide I thought I would sprain my jaw. I leaned down to kiss her lips and she responded. We pulled away smiling. “Okay, let’s clean the dishes now.” She said and I just nodded and before I knew it, the dishes are clean and dried, already being put back to where they should be.

My breath was uneasy as I inspected my attire. I was really nervous to the point where I’m worried I would wear one of the clothing inside out. I bet Darielle would find that amusing. I let out a shaky breath as I buttoned the top button. I wanted to clean up nice for this date since this is sort the first date I have ever been on. As a matter of fact, I even looked up online on how to dress better—I’m lame but I don’t care.

As I looked into the mirror, I have to admit, I did a pretty good job at matching the right clothing. My red checkered button up shirt was buttoned all the way up, most guys wouldn’t because they think it’s lame and nerdy but to me it’s leaning on class. The shirt definitely showed off my arms. I also slipped on a simple pair of black pants and I also picked out a pair of black shoes. Instead of putting my hair into the usual quiff, the front of my hair was smoothly combed back but to the side giving it a nice classy look and the rest of my hair was a little spiked but also combed nicely to the same direction as my front hair. A pair of police Ray Ban sunglasses was hung in the right pocket of my shirt.

I’m really looking forward this date because I’ve always heard the other seniors talking about how their dates went and how amazing it was. Now that I’m finally with someone, I’m gonna make sure that the both of us would never forget it. I wanna have fun this time and I can have fun with Darielle. Then the nerves start coming in when the thought of Darielle was actually across from my room getting ready.

I’m feeling really anxious about how she would look. She would be pretty, obviously. I sighed knowing that wondering about how she would look while sitting in this room wouldn’t have any effect at all so; I got up and opened the door. The moment I closed the door and looked up, my breath was hitched in my throat when my eyes landed on the sight in front of me.

My eyes scanned Darielle from head to toe and took in all the beauty. She looked cute yet sexy yet beautiful at the same time—like 3-in-1, I would call it. She wore a fully red knitted sweater that was tucked sloppily fashionable in her black skater skirt. I guess she blew dry her hair to look all wavy and puffy. She looked really cute with those sweater paws that made me wanna gush all over her cute appearance.

I am officially the weirdest fiancé ever. I guess I took too long at staring at her when she cleared her throat. “Oh, sorry, y-you look beautiful.” I blushed when she giggled when I stuttered. She grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. “You look handsome.” She cooed before leaning up on her toes to kiss my now crimson cheek. I sighed at the delicate lips touching my skin. I felt almost like how Thumper from Bambi that started thumping his foot when that female bunny kissed his puffy cheeks.

Yeah, that’s how I would describe what I’m feeling. “W-Well, let’s go then.” I said as I led both of us out from the house and started walking down the sidewalk to the bus stop since we both don’t have a car yet and I don’t have my license yet as well.

It didn’t take a long time for the bus to arrive. We got on and to my luck, there weren’t many people. I wouldn’t want to deal like the last time I was on a bus. I shivered at the memory. Darielle noticed my shivers. “Are you okay, Justin?” She asked as she placed a gentle hand on my arm. “Huh?” Oh, I’m fine. Don’t worry. I’m just cold.”

Nice excuse, Justin. Unfortunately, it’s frigging hot right now! I mentally smacked myself. Darielle just giggled at my ridiculous excuse but let it slide anyways. As we watched the houses go by, Darielle turned to me and asked. “So, where are you taking me on this date?”

That struck me as my body froze in realization. Shit, I forgot to plan. I turn and gave Darielle an awkward smile. “U-Uh, it’s a surprise.” I nervously proclaimed. I turned away from her to mentally release my stress over my forgetfulness.
