Addies P.O.V

Wow, todays the day. My very first date. My first date you may ask? Well you see, I've never really been out with a boy, much less dated one. And my friends all had boyfriends so, my friend Jess set me up with her boyfriends best friend, Cameron.

I've met him once and he's got a smile that could make anyone in the scariest situations feel okay, a laugh thats like the angels singing, and a body of a sex god. Don't know how, but they set him up on a date with me.

I was meeting him at a burger place, then we were gonna head down to the beach to watch the fireworks, so I wore jeans that I rolled up a bit past my ankles, a grey crop top, and a black and red checkered flannel tied around my waist. I finished applying my makeup and looked in the mirror, I fixed a few hairs and cleaned up some makeup fall out and I was ready.

"Ready Addie?" My mom called.

"Yeah I'm coming!" I said hopping down the stairs.

"You look great darling." She smiled genuinley. I smiled and thanked her as she scooched me out the door.

I stepped into the burger joint and all nervous thoughts were interuptted by the most delicious smell of burgers and fries, and the loud chattering of families and couples. A small smile was spread across my face as I looked around for Cameron. And when I couldn't find him I assumed it was because I came a bit early. I sat myself down at a two person booth where it was easy too see the people coming in, and I waited.

And waited..

And waited..

"Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?"

"No, I'm uh fine." I nodded. The waiter gave me a weird look and walked away. I sat for a few minutes until I saw Cameron finally walk in. He looked around the restaurnt until I lifted my hand up and slightly waved to get his attention. He nodded and walked towards me. I kept a smile on my face even though he was over an hour late.

"Lets just get this over with." I heard him whisper to himself.

My heart dropped and a lump formed in my throat as confusion washed over me, why would he say that?

......

After a while I could tell Cameron didn't want to be here so I just tried to eat fast and make conversation as much as I could.

A few jokes and strewn fries (from a food fight) later, Cameron seemed to be having a good time. But I could tell after this we probably wouldn't be seeing each other much.

Like a gentleman he paid for the check and we walked outside and continued talking for a bit.

"Man I can't believe they had to pay me to go on this date, it was actually a lot of fun." Cameron laughed. Anddd, there it was.

"Um, wait, pay you? My friends had to pay you to go out with me?"

"Yeah, they said you really liked me and it'd make you happy." he paused for a second. "And they paid me $50 bucks so."

"Wow, I mean showing up late was a douche move, but this makes you a downright asshole. Thanks a lot." I said as I started walking away.

"Addie wait-." Cameron said.  "Save it. Go buy a girlfriend with your 50 bucks." I said mocking his words and just walking home.

.......

"Hey Addie! How'd the date go?"

"It was great!" I said faking enthusiasm. "I'm just gonna take a shower now." She nodded and I headed upstairs to the bathroom. I wasn't even mad at Cameron that much, well yes I was but I was more mad at Jess, but its whatever. I saw his true colors, Cams a douchebag and thats that.

***NEXT WEEK AT SCHOOL***

I was standing by my locker talking about things that went on in the day with a group of friends, I hadn't brought up them paying Cameron or told anyone about that. They asked how it went but I told them that it went perfect I just don't like him like that. I'm pretty sure they knew I knew something but I shrugged it off and didn't bring it up anymore.

The bell rang and they all cleared out to go to class when I shut my locker and ran into the last person on Earth that I wanted too see.

"Cameron." I breathed out. "I um, gotta go." I said turning around.

"Wait Addie."

"What?"

"I'm sorry." he said

I pondered what to say, keeping a straight look on my face at all times.

"Is that all? Can I go now?"

"No Addie look, I don't know what to say. But what I did was wrong and I know I can't be all "wow! i said 2 simple words lets get married!" But I will do everything in my power to get your forgiveness back, even if it means you being mad at me forever at least I'll be doing everything I can too make you happy."

I nodded.

"Can we just start over? Start from being friends or even acquatainces?"

"I can do acquanteinces." I slightly laughed.

He chuckled and nodded leaning in for a hug when I put my hands on his chest and pushed him back.

"Acquantainces." I said shaking his hand.

He nodded and smiled. "Bye Cam."

THERES GONNA BE A PART 2 TO THIS I SWEAR BUT THIS IS SOOOO BAD BC I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO END IT IM SO SORRY.

BUT I WANTED TO TELL YOU GUYS FROM NOW ON IM PROBABLY GONNA BE BASING MY IMAGINES OFF OF POEMS I FIND ON TUMBLR,WEHEARTIT. ILL GIVE THE AUTHORS NAME AND ALL CREDIT TOO THE WRITER BUT I FIND SO MUCH INSPIRATION IN THESE POEMS ITS CRAZY.
