The Magic nullification zone was a small area in a dessert that covered roughly five square kilometres.
During the day it was extremely hot and during the night freezing cold, it was the perfect place to have a prison that the most dangerous criminals could be sent to.
Leon and Kelly had been teleported to the edge of the nullification zone where fiv men had met them and escorted them to the prison.
Leon felt normal in his Blank form here. The Magic Nullification Zone lived up to its name for sure, people couldn’t use magic there, something prevented it.

The yard of the prison was fairly large and had a tall qire fence that people could see through from both inside the prison and outside.
In all of the twenty years the prison had been opened there hadn’t been a single escape, not that it particularly mattered. This place was the only civilization around for at least thirty kilometres, if anyone tried to escape they would either die from dehydration or from the hypothermia caused by the freezing temperatures at night.

‘Are you sure we can trust him?’ Kelly asked Leon as the escort car pulled through the prisons gate.
‘No not really. But against Erikson he may be our best bet of winning.’ Leon replied.
Inside the prison the prisoners wore bright orange clothes and there were several guard towers that kept an eye over the entire yard and complex. The prisoners were semi aware of the two newcomers. Leon could fel eyes on him as he walked to the main building but when he looked around almost no one had even bothered to take notice with Kelly and his arrival.
‘So where exactly is he?’ Leon asked one of the escorts.
‘He’s been a cell in his own room since he got here. He doesn’t talk to many people much when he’s given time out.’ The guard replied.

After a short period of time the guards led Leon and Kelly to a room down a long stone hallway. The door was steel and labelled high security.
‘This is it. He’s in there.’ The guard said as he unlocked the door.
‘Thank you.’ Leon nodded.
‘I’ll be waiting out here if you need me.’ Kelly told Leon.
‘Thanks.’

Leon entered the room and the door closed behind him.
The man Leon was there to see faced the wall so that Leon couldn’t see his face.
He stood as upright and as proud as the day Leon had met him.
‘I was wondering when you were going to get here.’ He said calmly.
‘I wouldn’t be here unless I needed to be.’ Leon replied.
‘So then why are you here?’
‘Because I need your help, Malqua.’
Malqua turned around and looked at Leon. ‘And why should I help you?’
Leon went to open his mouth to answer when Kelly suddenly burst in and said ‘Because if you don’t help I’ll make you help us.’
Malqua jumped back to his wall and suddenly looked ridiculously scared
‘Keep that crazy bitch away from me!’ He shouted.
Kelly’s looked mad suddenly. ‘Who the hell are you calling crazy!’
‘You threw a sword through my leg!’
‘You tried to kill us.’ Kelly responded bluntly.
‘She has a point.’
‘Just keep her away from me.’
‘I’ll cut you a deal.’ Leon said smirking. ‘If you agree to help us, then Kelly doesn’t hurt you.’

Malqua considered Leon’s offer. The terms would only apply if he agreed to help Leon otherwise he didn’t need to worry, but still he could use this as leverage to get his sentence shortened.
‘Ok I’ll help you, but I have one condition.’
‘What is it?’ Leon asked.
‘There’s someone in here that shouldn’t be, she comes with us or I don’t go at all.’
‘How am I meant to believe that?’
‘I’ll guess you’ll just have to trust me, Leon.’
‘You don’t even know why we need you yet.’ Leon said.
‘You’ll tell me as we go. So long as I’m out of here.’
