Leon awoke in another med bay. The room seemed sort of old but at the same time there were newer additions like machines such as heart rate monitors and computers.
Leon glanced down the bed and peeked under the covers.
‘Two arms and two legs, I don’t think I’m missing anything.’ He laughed.
This time Leon couldn’t quiet find anyone in the room, he was alone.
Leon’s body was in pain still. He couldn’t quite remember what happened during his duel with Edward, he could remember being beaten to the point of near death but then everything just went blank to him.
Leon tossed the blankets off him and stood up. He looked at his hands; they had a few cuts and bruises on them but nothing that was bleeding.
Leon glanced out the window next to his bed. The sky was yellow with orange and bits of darker blue, the sun was setting it was getting late.
‘Have I really been asleep for that long?’ He asked himself whispering.
‘Yes you have.’ A voice behind him answered.
Leon turned around to see the old man who he had first seen when he had come to the school.
‘That was an interesting fight you had earlier today.’ He spoke. ‘Yes that Gold Magic boy was completely shocked with your transformation my boy.’
Leon hadn’t noticed it till now but the man looked old but a normal old but there was something about him, something that seemed sort of ancient. His eyes looked as though they had seen much and he seemed to fix them on a single point, not glance around. He stood up relatively straight and held his hands behind his back. He didn’t seem like a super genius but he seemed incredibly wise, like he had had such a long life and learnt many lessons during it.
‘I’m sorry sir but what transformation?’ Leon asked.
The old man took a few steps closer breaking the concentration with his eyes and glancing up and down at Leon.
‘Ahh my boy it appears your memory is lacking. It’s sad that one as young as you has a worse memory than one as old as me.’ He said cheerily.
‘Was that a joke?’ Leon wondered.
‘I’m sorry my boy, I’ve gotten myself side tracked. I can see you are wondering exactly why it is that I have come here. The reason is my boy is to tell you that you are a Magic, despite appearances you have tremendous magic potential, you my boy are a Blue Magic.’
At the mention of Blue Magic it was as if all of Leon’s memories came flooding back to him.
‘I-I don’t know how sir I don’t even know what happened.’
‘Well then no one really does. For the moment I only have an idea but I think that maybe your magic was sealed your entire life, that maybe you had no access to your abilities so your mana levels grew and grew until eventually the levels reached so high that the seal holding them back cracked and your own desire to beat Edward forced your abilities to shatter the seal. I cannot truly explain why you reverted to being a Blank, perhaps it was because when you had no need for the magic inside you the seal re-sealed your powers or perhaps your final attack depleted your mana levels enough for the seal to repair itself and lock away your powers, it could be both. But my child I can see even after your long sleep you are too tired to continue talking of this. Find your friends for now and come see me tomorrow.’
‘Umm I don’t know who you are sir.’
‘I’m the headmaster, Mr Calean.’
While wandering around the school Leon had noticed that some parts seemed somewhat modern, others old or ancient like out of a story book but there were parts that seemed both new and old too.
When Leon finally reached the main hall he noticed something that he thought wouldn’t be happening, there were Magics of all different houses mixed together sitting at tables together and eating.
The hall was decorated with gems across the ceiling, each gem fluttering with beautiful different colours and casting brilliant lights. The walls had beautiful stain glass arch windows and the floor was made out of stone. This room looked like a kind of masterpiece.
When Leon stepped in the hall seemed to go silent as almost everyone went silent. There were a few whispers here and there.
Awkwardly Leon glanced back and forth across the room, scanning the expressions on people’s faces.
Leon almost felt like he was alone in a room of living statues and if he blinked they would move or look away.
After a minute or two of silence Blain jumped out of his seat and shouted to Leon.
Being just about the only noise in the hall Leon noticed and walked as quickly as he could without looking in a rush over to him.
As Leon reached the mass of people sitting at tables the silence just seemed to break as everyone turned back to their tables and began chatting with each other again.
Leon wandered through the mass until finally he reached Blain, Collin, Alexandra and Kelly.
There was a space between Collin and Blain so Leon sat there.
Leon glanced around the table, there was so much food and he was starving.
He noticed everyone on the table was silent.
‘So … how are you all?’ He asked awkwardly.
His friends were silent for a brief moment then Blain broke the silence.
‘We’re a lot better off than you look.’ He laughed.
Leon found himself glad someone was able to take the situation from a lighter point of view.
‘Boy I’m hungry!’ Leon said loud and enthusiastically.
As if His stomach were a bottomless pit Leon began eating large amounts of food.
Pieces of stake and bread.
Collin and Blain were laughing at Leon’s sudden increase in his rate of eating but Alexandra and Kelly just stared in shock at Leon who’s stomach may has well of just become a starving monster.
The smile on Collins and Edwards faces disappeared and turned to looks of shock as they soon realised that not only had Leon eaten his food but he had also began to eat theirs too.‘Hey that’s ours!’ they shouted.
Leon paused and glanced back and forth at Collin and Blain.
He had been eating some spaghetti when he paused but quickly he sucked in the last of the pasta.
‘Stop!’ Collin shouted.
‘Sorry I’m starving.’ Leon laughed.
Alexandra finally giggled for the first time all night at this.
Leon smile faded away as he glared at the centre of the table. His voice became serious.
‘There’s something I need to ask you all, something serious.’
Collin looked at him with concern. ‘What is it man?’ He asked.
‘After my fight with Edward, did someone kiss me?’
The entire table fell to a brief silence and then all at once each one of them laughed.
A few miles off shore a small boat surveyed the island.
The boat must have held somewhere around ten people. A man stood out of the deck under the cover of a night without a moon.
It was a still night. The sea barely brushed against the boat enough to move it.
The man on the deck was distracted by the cabin door opening.
Another man stepped out. For a brief moment the light coming out of the cabins entrance covered the man.
He wore a suit, it was a dark red.
‘Sir.’ He spoke.
‘What are your orders?’
There was a moment of silence. Only the gentle ripples of the sea brushing against the boat made a noise.
‘We start in the morning.’ He answered
Water around the ship began to ripple and move faster until it shook the boat.
‘They shall not know what has befallen them till too late.
